Marketing Professional with a Passion for Music

I recently finished an internship at Tommy Boy Entertainment in NYC. Throughout my 8- month journey at Tommy Boy, I assisted the Head of A&R with curating music and artwork for the labels Spotify and SoundCould playlists.

On the promotion side of the business:
•I co-managed Tommy Boy’s YouTube channel, which included editing, monetizing, uploading, scheduling and interacting with numerous subscribers. Further, I provided rising talent for the channels weekly series called “Heat Beneath the Street.”
•I created a workbook that included a wide variety of influencers that could promote new release through their platforms. Some included internet and college radio stations, publications and curators of influence.

On the operations side of the business:
•I assisted with cleaning up 20+ years’ worth of metadata from an acquisition from Warner Music Group.
•I was responsible for registering new releases through Nielsen’s SoundScan and ingesting and running digital sales with a 3rd party royalty management company, known as Backlash Solutions.
•I worked alongside the CEO, to create “Digital Report Cards” to compare streaming, downloads and total revenue from the DSP’s servicing our music. This research provided insight on lost revenue, missing releases and music consumption trends.

I truly enjoyed my time at such a legendary label that pioneered Hip Hop and Dance music. It was the taste that I needed to be reminded how much I appreciate music and the driving force behind the talent.

When my internship ended at Tommy Boy Entertainment, I took to creating my own platforms to share my love for music. The first of which is named, LENS ON ME. This weekly playlist holds a lens over talent whose music needs to be heard by the masses. The playlist can be found on Apple Music and Spotify. My other platform that I’m currently working on is called, Above Sin. This Tumbler account will act as my portfolio to provide original content. My first article highlighted spending a Sunday night at a free gig in Central Park where I also memorialized the night with some great photos.
