Hatch Ag Group LLC, Marketing Strategist. Part to Full Time, Research Park, Champaign, Illinois Jan 2018 – Jan 2019
• Marketing planning and strategizing for a handful of startups, mainly in the agriculture technology (ag tech) field.
• Activities included web design and content, graphic designer collaboration and instruction including logo development and branding design for new companies, designing and writing marketing materials, spearheading new tradeshow booth materials, social media, newsletters, developing branding standards, website revamp and brand consistency, other collateral such as PowerPoint decks and investor packets, as well as new sales and marketing program development including original program packet design. A majority of this work was for AirScout, Inc., where I continue to do marketing work.
• Aided Hatch Ag founder / adjunct professor in University of Illinois course instruction. I organized three student panels on entrepreneurship for an agriculture tech / engineering entrepreneurship-focused lecture, reaching out to student and staff leaders. I also stepped in for him as professor on occasion to lead an ag tech discussion course in his absence.

• Social media content creation and run a new creative marketing campaign for the HR data analytics company. Freelance position.

Cetis, Inc., Marketing Content Coordinator October 2014 – June 2015
• Develop and manage marketing content for the global brand that designs, manufactures, and distributes hotel phone systems. It is estimated that Cetis channel partners have deployed over 30 million telephones at 100,000 customer locations worldwide.
• Write video script content, social media content, press releases and newsletter stories, employee features including a CEO feature story, and new printed materials. Developed several hundred original Tweets for the company’s three main product brands where we launched new respective pages (Teledex, TeleMatrix, and Scitec) and exponentially increase each brand’s social media presence & interactability.
• Launch digital advertising campaigns through Google AdWords and PPC campaigns for each brand. Provide background keyword and competitor research for these campaigns before implementation, and monitor campaign success.

• Consult with personal safety technology start-up that won a Cozad Award. Develop its brand identity, marketing materials, manage daily social media and overall marketing strategy that included a video series, and outreach to potential investors.
• Led Servabo in being named a Top Three Most Promising Midwest Startup from Startup Voodoo based in St. Louis after a successful social media voting campaign.
Aspen Advisors, Associate Consultant . Jan 2014 – May 2014
• Assist in workplace analytics data for Human Resource managers of Fortune 500 and 100 companies. Designed the format of this data into their online Pando (online software program) dashboard. This allowed the managers to view and process information visually.

Illinois Green Business Association, Co-Founder, Director of Marketing and Special Projects May 2008 – Oct 2013
• Co-founded and established the first statewide green business certification program in Illinois, providing a framework for the adoption of sustainability principles in daily business operations and practices. Managed all public communications and marketing content including website, monthly e-newsletters, green business features, white papers, all social media sites, brochures, flyers, and ads, regular press releases for business certification achievements (70), and multimedia creation including directing, shooting, and editing a nine-part informational video series. Initiated and authored a regular “Green Tips” column in Central Illinois Business magazine.
• Led marketing for and co-organized two IGBA Illinois Green Business Summits, held September 7, 2012 and October 15, 2013 in Champaign and Tinley Park, IL. Attendance was full (200 attendees), with nine educational panels and workshops, nationally acclaimed keynote speakers, and 30 corporate and organizational booths for intra-Summit networking. Led outreach to promote event and led student interns, co-directed the planning committee.
• Spearheaded the 2011 and 2012 community events on the University of Illinois’ campus, “Go Green On Green Street!” which educated the public on green living and community sustainability initiatives. I led dozens of students to promote and volunteer at the event that featured 30 student and community environmental groups, educational activities, and entertainment for hundreds of community members. This event was something I was passionate about in fostering positive relations with the local University, my alma mater, so I directed this as an additional event to my everyday marketing duties.
• Managed 40+ student interns in five years, and worked directly with hundreds of students on dozens of courses and extracurricular projects related to business sustainability: research, marketing, outreach, event planning, innovative projects, and program development.
• Organized several dozen monthly “Green Drinks” networking events featuring a local sustainability-related speaker or expert.
• Delivered educational and business presentations for thousands of business/sustainability professionals and academia including Chambers of Commerce, business associations, Economic Development Councils, City Councils, and other local groups.

Community Organized Recycling Efforts, Co-Founder and Co-Director August 2007 – 2009
? Founded and led a group with a goal to demonstrate the need for a multi-family residential recycling program in the City of Champaign; contributed to support and awareness in the years leading to the City of Champaign’s “Feed the Thing” citywide recycling program.
? Created and directed individuals, student volunteers, and 22 Greek Fraternity organizations to recycle over 7,000 pounds of landfill material (and 200 pairs of shoes in a shoe drive) in a two week competition in 2007.
? Originated and coordinated the “CORE Campus Clean-Up” which attracted 30+ volunteers who collected 400 pounds of aluminum cans and cleaned up trash in Champaign in March 2008. Aluminum recycling proceeds were donated to charity.
