Dear Hiring Manager,

I am excited to be applying for this position. It combines all of my true loves, program development and management, diversity and inclusion, and a passion for the outdoors.

I recently received my Masters in Social Work with an emphasis on program development and evaluation. Prior to that, I received a Bachelors in Social Work with minors in Diversity and Gender Studies. I have experience managing multiple programs that involved working with teens and young adults, as well as supervising staff and volunteers. When in these positions, I have the skills needed to excel such as being able to work as part of a team, strong communication and interpersonal skills, conflict management, being self-motivated, and being able to develop and meet program objectives.

Growing up in Arizona, being outdoors has always been a huge part of my life. More recently, I spent a great deal of time camping and backpacking in the Ozarks and Ouachita mountains. I am currently working on getting my WFR certification and preparing for a through hike in 2021. One of my favorite opportunities in my last position was planning and executing a group hiking expedition with campus recreation and being able to combine wellness and self-care with spending time in nature.

I look forward to being able to speak with you more about this opportunity. I am able to relocate temporarily as needed for the position, and can provide references as needed.

Thank you so much,

Maya Fay
