PROJECTS

Agriculture Conservation Camp
I had the opportunity to work with a partnership formed with the Black United Funds of Texas, Texas Wildlife & Park, Acres Home of Commerce, Drew Academy, and Mr. Roy Malonson of RS Deer Ranch to engage students experience the outdoors while learning about Agriculture conservation of wildlife.

Cooperative Agricultural Research Center funded USDA project entitled Project Trans-formative Learning Culture (Project TLC)
I currently work in a research group to find how to produce and provide healthy and nutritious food. So far, I have learned how to carry out extractions and then analyze the extracted sample using GC-MS. The Swiss chard was grown at the Student-led Garden, and then the leaves were separated from the stalk to determine whether the same compounds are present in both parts of the plant. I am also performing research studies in the Student-led Garden to determine whether onion or mint is the best natural pesticide for cabbage and cauliflower
