To Whom It May Concern,

I would like to be considered as a qualified applicant for the position of Lead Preschool Teacher at your school. I have been in the profession of childcare since I began my career as a nanny in 1988. Since then, I have had many opportunities to work with children and their parents in many capacities. I have owned and operated a large childcare center, a family childcare home, been a kindergarten teacher and a mom. I take my choice of profession very seriously, and although it has always been required by the state for me to do continuing education classes to keep my license, I feel it’s important to do so to keep current in the area of early childhood education. I have had classes in SIDS training, Shaken Baby Syndrome, and am certified in first aid and CPR. I keep all of my certifications current.

My teaching style promotes and nurtures an environment where children are encouraged to become confident, independent, and life-long learners, and one in which the children are given daily opportunities to develop their potential through art, music, language development, dramatic play, and sensory activities, and are encouraged to explore their environment and their world.

My curriculum has always supported children learning through play as it is crucial for brain development and a child’s intellectual growth as they learn to problem solve, get along with others, and develop the large and fine motor skills necessary for development. I believe in creating a classroom, that along with curriculum, is thoughtfully and carefully designed to provide the children with the best possible experience and learning opportunities.

I am a firm believer in the importance of quality and educational early childhood education that reflects best practices while taking into consideration the age and development of each child and I would like to be a part of creating and operating as a Preschool Teacher in a school such as yours.

I have included my resume which in small part reflects the depth and breadth of my experience and knowledge and I would like the opportunity to speak to you in person to expound upon this.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Pauline A. Zifko
