What you're doing now for your career/business.
Hello, my name is Paris Monroy, I am 21 and originally from Marin County, in the Bay Area, but now residing in San Diego. Currently, I am taking a semester off from pursuing a business accounting degree, at San Diego State University. I want to gain work experience in video production and editing as well as explore possible alternative career paths that better align with my creative interests.

2. What Videography and Editing experience you've had - how long, what tools you've used, etc
I began editing my freshman year of high school. During my four years in school I was enrolled in the Marin School of the Arts, within the cinematic arts program at Novato High School. I have used many types of cameras, along with different mounts such as weighted stabilizers, 3-axis gimbals, and tripods. I specialize in aerial videography and have great control when flying drones. I own a phantom drone with a mounted 4K camera, laptop, and software. As for editing I have a strong knowledge base in Final Cut Pro, but have some background in both Adobe Primer and Avid Media Composer.

3. What results have you had so far with editing? Please send us a link to some of your most recent work

Two Rivers Soccer Camp; Graeagle, Ca — 2017
Created a short promotional video for the Two Rivers Soccer Camp. I collaborated with the Camp Director, captured footage using my DJI Phantom drone and then edited the video later using Final Cut Pro.

4. How many hours per week could you commit to this?
I am willing to dedicate at least 30 hours per week if I were to be selected for this position.

5. Why do you think you're the best fit for this role?
I am the best fit for this position because I am business oriented, intrinsically motivated, and possess applicable skills that relate to creating content. My skills and experience I gained at MSA, plus my work experience make me an ideal candidate for the Editor position. I compose my own musical scores and instrumentals so that I avoid having to worry about copyright issues and I can freely adjust the music to effectively blend it with the video. I also have experience with the process of searching for high quality audio. I know how to make video and audio work dynamically with each other in order to tell a compelling story. I have access to Adobe Primer and After Effects. I am a fast learner and have an affinity for picking up new technology or programs quickly. In addition I work hard, follow directions well, and can work quickly to deliver exceptional results.
