Experience

August 2019 - December 2019
Teaching and Research Assistant | University of Tennessee at Chattanooga
During the fall 2019 semester, I was lucky enough to work with Dr. Olivia Wolf as a Teaching and Research Assistant for the History of Western Art from Prehistoric Through Medieval course. I worked closely with Dr. Wolf to develop the course curriculum by undertaking two independent research projects and presenting my research to the class. I also provided lecture support and class leadership during two class periods when Dr. Wolf was attending a research conference; helped provide classroom moderation during regular lecture periods; provided proctoring support during quizzes and tests; and counselled students on study habits, research and essay-writing.

June 2018 – July 2018
Assistant (Volunteer) | LIT Gallery
While working with the LIT Gallery in St. Elmo, I helped to organize the exhibition Surreal Deal. This included marketing (distributing printed materials and advertisements for the exhibition), installation of work in the gallery space, and communication with featured artists. I was privileged enough to work closely with Leah Dalton (co-owner of the LIT Gallery), who taught me the principles of installation and exhibition curation.

September 2016 – August 2017
Guest Advocate (Cashier and Front of Store Attendant) | Target
At Target I was trained as a cashier and customer service associate. This gave me a variety of skills, including good communication and problem-solving; organization and time management; successful salesmanship; and innovation. Working in a retail environment taught me how to handle fast-paced, high-stress conditions with grace, and left me with a renewed appreciation for teamwork as well as increased confidence and independence. I was also trained to work in the Target Cafe.
