Relevant Experience
Sports Journalism
• Current writer for The Western Courier (Fall 2017- Present)
Responsibilities include constant research and preparation to complete assigned articles. Writing
Previews, recaps, and highlights for Men’s and Women’s basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, and track
And field. Also, writing one column every week and any desired sports topic. Editing of every article and making sure it is ready for print.
• Writer for The McDonough County Voice (Fall 2018- Present)
Responsibilities include research and preparation of local sports topics to complete assigned articles. Currently writing for local sports including WIU football, men’s and women’s basketball, soccer, baseball, softball, swimming and diving, and Macomb High School Sports.

D1 Sports Training Marketing/Managerial Internship May-August 2018: Main duties including finding leads, scheduling appointments, and selling memberships to walk-ins and from leads lists. Managerial tasks ranged from re-organizing files, to painting walls, to finding a new janitorial service.

Western Illinois on-air talent
• Women’s basketball sideline reporter 2017-2018 season, Women’s soccer play-by-play announcer Fall 2017- present, Men’s basketball color announcer 2018-2019 season
Broadcast Preparations: Close communication with WIU athletics representatives to gather research and review critical and meaningful team and individual statistics of past seasons and recent games and plan for inclusion opportunities. Develop pre-packaged pieces on players and coaches for broadcasts. Familiar with a/v broadcast equipment via set up, teardown and operation.
Production Contributions: Conducted ESPN3 game coverage for multiple games. Was effective as both play by play and analyst roles as well as pre/post-game interviews with player and coaches. Applied weekly feedback from instructors to consistently add depth and breadth to my announcing skills
Western Illinois University Sports Broadcasting Assignment
• Western Illinois Camera Operator/Utility March 2018- present
Responsibilities included running cable, audio equipment and set up and take down of live broadcast. Ran camera operation for Football, softball, baseball, and basketball games. Ran different camera positions for each sport from sideline to game cam and more.
• Freelancing as Camera Operator/Utility (Mediacomm/WGEM Quincy)
Responsibilities Included Running cable, audio equipment and set up and take down of all equipment needed for live broadcast. Camera Operator for football games, ran touchdown angled camera for multiple events, operating parabolic microphone, lighting equipment for live production.

Rampart High School sports broadcasting student fall 2015-spring 2017 (officer from fall 2016- spring 2017): Responsibilities include finding stats and stories for both away and home team for broadcasts. Interviewing players and coaches to have pre-packaged pieces for broadcasts. Setting up and taking down the equipment for each broadcast. running camera, electronic switcher, electronic scoreboard, instant replay system for broadcasts. As an officer organizing personal for each position on every broadcast. Setting up equipment for instructor before broadcast. Leading the broadcast team to have a thorough understanding of how equipment operates. Knowing the ins and outs of all equipment and set up to educate kids for tests and quizzes in class.
• Rampart High School “Bald for Bucks” event coverage (April 2017): Provided 4 hours of live TV coverage for this unique cancer research fund raiser. Hundreds of students and staff volunteer to raise funds and then have their heads shaved as a sign of unity with cancer patients. Our responsibility is to provide event coverage and interview many of the students, staff, volunteers and cancer patients during this 4 hour event. Event raised $150K for cancer research
