PROJECTS

Educational Water Tunnel (Senior Design Project) Fall 2015 – Spring 2016
• Designed and fabricated a laminar flow water tunnel for educational purposes
• Ensured proper communication between the team and client for each design change while also keeping track of expenditure and updating the client with technical reports and presentations
• Link to the project: https://www.cefns.nau.edu/capstone/projects/ME/2016/EducationalWaterTunnel/

2D Heat Transfer Simulation Fall 2016
• Created a code in MATLAB to preform finite difference analysis within the geometry at any node size divisible by 10 (included internal generation and two insulated surfaces)
• Justified code by comparing results to values from heat transfer equations

Experimental Methods Lab Fall 2016
• Conducted varying lab experiments within a small group by following manuals/lab procedures and collected data
• Analyzed the efficiency of a solar cooker (designed and constructed as well) to boil one cup of water using thermocouples and LabVIEW

Gear Box Design Spring 2015
• Fully designed a gear box for a wind turbine using equations that included: tooth ratio and sizes for gears, shaft keys/keyways, proper ball bearings, material type for each section
• Modeled the entire design in SolidWorks
