Interior Design Student

My name is Rachel Burgess, and I am a rising senior interior design student at Anderson University. I am currently seeking an internship this summer. Through this internship, I am willing and excited to work with all typologies of design, in both residential and commercial to prepare me for a successful career in the interior design industry while contributing the skills that I have acquired thus far.

With strong experience in both hand drafting and rendering as well as computer-aided drafting through Auto CAD, Sketch-up, and Autodesk Revit, my design works include an ADA compliant high-end residence, a LEED-certified shipping container home, a collaborative office space, an ambulatory surgery center, a candy shop, an indoor plant market, as well as various additional projects. Each project encompasses the phases of design including programming, schematics, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration. As each stage of the process offers new experiences and challenges, I would be excited to work on each and every project that I am presented with in any way that I can.

I approach every design challenge with an openness to learn and grow while working to stretch my creative thinking. Working with others who share the same passion and excitement for the work as I do creates an environment that I would love to be a part of! The design industry demands the skills to work both individually and collaboratively, both of which I have experience and would appreciate the opportunity to strengthen as well.

In addition to my current professional skills, I hold a true passion for design and all the facets that the term encompasses and am willing and excited to learn through every opportunity that I am presented with.
