Interior Design Internship
Dear Hiring Manager,
It is with great enthusiasm that I submit my application for the Interior Designer Intern position at The Concept House. With Master’s degree in Interior Architecture from UCLA extension and a Bachelor’s degree in Interior design, I know that my diverse skills, qualifications and hands on experience as an Interior Designer and Project In-charge will make me an asset to your design team at The Concept House.
As you will see from my resume, I’ve obtained multidisciplinary knowledge by working on various types of projects where I was not just the designer but also the Project In-charge and
Project coordinator. I’m not only used to wearing many hats, I sincerely enjoy it. I thrive in an atmosphere where every day is a new challenge and an opportunity to learn.
In addition to being flexible and responsible, I always strive to provide facility solutions through establishment and documentation of strategic space planning, design and specification strategies, build-outs of new spaces. I have worked on large scale projects like executive space for diamond factories, schools and eye hospitals. I have worked on many different apartments from low budget to high end.
Working on these projects has broadened my understanding tremendously. I started as an entry-level designer and quickly advanced to the position of Project in-charge where I was
responsible for proposals, production, and communication with clients. I feel that my strength of communicating with customers and producing designs to meet their specifications is one of the essential roles performed by a professional designer. Strong design needs not only good ideas but also the practicality that allows the design to be ultimately carried out. If this is achieved, then this is the mark of a good design. It is essential to have experience with the practical aspects of design in order to distinguish between effective and impractical designs. My work thus far has been rewarding and inspiring, yet it has also allowed me to reflect upon my shortcomings and the areas in which I need to receive additional training. However, I feel that I have not satisfied my urge to learn, especially when there is so much remaining. So, I am highly motivated to join your firm and learn diligently.
Working at ESSTEAM Design services has helped me boost my imagination and trained me to come up with innovative solutions. I have learned the value of teamwork here. Now that I have a firm understanding of both the theoretical and practical aspects of Interior design, I feel that I am prepared to begin the next step of my professional development, which is to intern at your firm as an Interior Designer. I feel that it is important to build upon my previous training and education in a stimulating atmosphere full of diverse viewpoints and ideas. Your firm is ideal for meeting my professional goals. This is an opportunity for me to build a strong and thriving career and learn modern facilities that can provide me with a cutting-edge experience.
