PROFESSIONAL/VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE:

Missions Intern – OMF: Overseas Missions Fellowship (May-August 2019)
• Spent two months in Aomori, Japan and helped other Non-Japanese speaking interns by translating cross-cultural interactions between native Japanese speakers on a daily basis
• Created flyers and advertisements for various events at the church in both Japanese and English in order to help expand outreach
• Assisted in teaching basic English to children ages 4-10, along with older adults within the local church community

Retail Sales Representative – Japangeles Apparel (November-December 2018)
• Interacted with and helped various customers looking to buy exclusive clothing found only in Little Tokyo
• Routinely would open the Japangeles kiosk and organize the products by varying size and color for customer ease
• Utilized Shopify payment system to accept payments via credit card or cash

Web Accessibility Technical Assistant – Biola University Talbot School of Theology (June-August 2018)
• Utilized Adobe X Pro to file check and fix various documents for the Talbot School of Theology
• Made sure all documents in class courses met Federal government Accessibility Standards and complied with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2 Guidelines

Nikkei Community Intern – East San Gabriel Valley Japanese Community Center (June- August 2017)
• Planned and executed a game circuit event for older adult members of the community center’s Senior Wellness Program. Led event, oversaw and managed other interns.
• Led various cultural education programs for children ages 5-12 at the community center’s annual summer camp.
• Conceptualized, designed, and created a mural that was presented and approved by the board of directors before being displayed for the public

LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE:

Biola Hope Rising
Director of Communications (August 2016 - December 2018)
• Planned and led various meetings and events collaboratively with the leadership team
• Routinely would send out various social media and weekly email updates to club members
• Acted as a representative for club during various campus engagement opportunities using grassroots marketing techniques to recruit new members
• Acted as treasurer and would routinely fill out financial forms for club

Kizuna – Youth CAN & A3M (Summer 2015)
• Created a brochure for Asians for Miracle Marrow Matches (A3M) that brought awareness to the organization and Bone Marrow Cancer
• Conceptualized and developed a marketing and information tool with questions with my team to be used by A3M to inform the public on bone marrow donations and bone marrow cancer

Biola University – Assistant Tennis Coach; Special Olympics (Fall 2015 - Fall 2016)
• Assisted in coaching various Special Olympics tennis players that came to practice on campus
