Profile
I am an attentive, open-minded, charismatic graduate, ready to embark in new
challenges in a professional workplace. I approach every situation with a positive and
can-do attitude, whilst simultaneously bringing a high level of emotional intelligence and
attention to detail to any workforce. Through my experiences, I have developed strong
communicative skills - focussing on customer and audience needs - all while developing a
transferable and tangible skill set in researching, interviewing, marketing and publishing.
These experiences allow me to thrive in environments where interaction and
communication with co-workers and clients are key, constructively working in a team and
expressing creativity to execute projects to a high standard. I am therefore looking for an
opportunity to use and develop my skills, challenging myself to make a real difference to a
team and delivering long-lasting and impacting results.
MASH Magazine - Editor-in-Chief
November 2018 - Present
Brighton/London, United Kingdom
Focus: Researching, Outreach, Editorial Content Creation, Marketing, Publishing
After graduating I have begun curating my own project and initiative, MASH Magazine. The
inspiration behind this is to create a safe space and platform to discuss the topics within our
current culture, using journalism and art mediums to do so. My role is to simultaneously
execute many responsibilities and tasks often under time constraints and always to a high
standard. Predominantly I am in charge of ‘Research’, which has grown my awareness of the
current culture so my content is relevant and engaging. More specifically, this has involved
researching online; networking within the city; filtering and selecting topics that deserve closer
attention; note-taking at local events and arranging over the phone interviews. All of this has
given me confidence in my drive for constantly wanting to stay up to date and involved in the
changing trends, using my analytical, organisational and communicative skills to do so.
Small Batch Coffee - Barista
October 2018 - Present
Brighton, United Kingdom
Focus: Ideating, Customer Service, Quality Control, Mediating
My duties included providing a consistently exceptional level of product and customer service at
all times. As my role has developed, I have participated in the regeneration of the store, ideating
and deciding on solutions to help the shop’s relationship with the local community and
marketing the service and product we provide effectively through after hour’s events and
making our presence felt at community events. This has taken a great deal of genuine interest
in making a withstanding impact in the community, by listening and responding accordingly in
meetings, referencing statistics and managing expectations. I now carry these skills forward
into any task or project, where the audience or customers needs are the main drive and priority
behind a task or project.
Mojo Coffee House - Barista
March 2018 – October 2018
Brighton, United Kingdom
Focus: Training, Team-work, Organisation
Working for Mojo Coffee House taught me the importance of being able to lead a
team by relying on organisation and efficiency. Trusted with the task of training new
members of staff, I developed a high degree of preparation and emotional intelligibility to ensure
staff members felt reassured and motivated. This, in turn, has taught me how to take initiative
wherever I can and has embedded in me the importance of working cohesively in a team to
create a positive working environment.
Ruth’s Rustics – Founder
June 2014 – September 2016
London, United Kingdom
Focus: Branding, Selling, Public Relations
Founded and set up my own social enterprise in which I managed many roles from designer,
manufacturer, to marketer and retailer. Attending craft shows weekly, I learnt to balance a
range of responsibilities such as stock control, public relations, administration, advertising
(POS, social media). Sales and marketing played a crucial role and allowed me the chance to
interpret my market and target customers. This, in turn, provided me with an extremely
educative insight into what it takes to build and maintain a successful business.
Education
2015 - 2018
University of Brighton
BA Degree in Philosophy, Politics
and Art - 2:1
My degree has shown me the importance
of having an analytical skillset, providing
me with a critical eye which has, in turn,
taught me to not to take anything at face
value and has highlighted my desire to
learn and evaluate anything that I am
faced with. This has driven my interest in
research and investigation... all while
applying these to my love for the arts. The
process of my many essays and
Dissertation - which consisted of
meticulous research, development and
finally presenting my work- has shown my
ability to complete a project where
attention to detail is key and highlights
how my writing and personal skills have
been relied on to create engaging content
and arguments.
