Goals
I am currently finishing my Master's of Social Work. My goal is to obtain employment in the therapy field in order to provide effective services to at-risk populations in my community. In the future, I would like to obtain my LSW and LCSW to better provide services to my clients.

RiverValley Behavioral Health (Owensboro, KY)
Clinical MSW internship placement, August 2019- present
• Observing and facilitating individual and family therapy sessions with child and adolescent patients in the inpatient psychiatric hospital
• Completing new admissions assessments, including bio-psych-social-spiritual assessments

Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center
Generalist MSW internship placement, May 2019-August 2019
• Provided direct care to individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities that were residing in a group home setting, including: cooking, cleaning, assisting with daily living skills
• CPR/First Aid certification
• Researched and developed “best practices” that will ensure continuity and consistency of services at each of the nine group homes operated by Easter Seals

Volunteers of America of Indiana, Supportive Services for Veteran Families
June 2014 to July 2018
• Worked with Veterans and their families who were either homeless or at imminent risk of becoming homeless, to promote housing stability
• Developed comprehensive goal plans for each client/family and provided the necessary resources needed for them to actively work towards achieving their goals
• Collaborated with other community agencies for referrals for healthcare, employment, education, etc.
• Input case notes into a Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) database
• Prepared check requests for rent, utilities, and other financial needs for clients, and provided to the accounting department for check processing
• Certified in ASIST suicide prevention techniques
• Certified in SOAR (SSI/SSDI Outreach, Access, and Recovery) to assist homeless Veterans with applying and getting approved for Social Security benefits
• Completed housing searches and spoke with landlords to advocate for my clients
• Served as secretary for the Homeless Services Council of Southwestern Indiana (HCSWI), as well as the secretary for both the Veteran's Committee and Steering Committee (both of which are sub-committees of HSCSWI)
• Assisted the Program Director with preparing case files for extensive audits from both the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) as well as CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities)

October 2012 to June 2014
• Investigated reports of alleged child abuse and neglect.
• Ensured the safety and welfare of children by removing them from their parents' care, when necessary
• Prepared Court paperwork and presented the paperwork to a judge, under supervision of a staff attorney
• Was available to investigate reports of alleged child abuse outside of normal business hours and act appropriately to ensure the safety and welfare of the children
• Referred children and families to the appropriate services needed to promote stability and a safe environment for the children
• Completed visits with children and families in their homes, as well as in the community (schools, hospitals, etc)
• Utilized crisis intervention and de-escalation skills to promote safety for myself and for all others involved
