Skills
I am a Cincinnati native that has discovered a passion for helping those around me. I currently balance three part-time jobs; nannying, Abrakadoodle mobile art teaching, and a night a week at Starbucks. Over time I have learned to keep track of my own schedule as well as others, and I have worked with many age groups. I have found that no job is beneath me and put my complete attention on tasks given to me. When no one else would, I stepped up at Abrakadoodle and helped my boss pack supplies to help her and other teachers receive the proper supplies on time. I love working with people, and my hopes for the future are to work in Art Therapy with school-age children. In high school, I was a varsity swimmer, president of the chess club, and an honor student. I also pride myself in my chance to travel, having done volunteer work in Mexico and have been to thirteen countries, and not the resort type of travel either.
Experience

Self-employed, Blue Ash, Ohio - Before and After-care Nanny
I take care of two very active children, a boy that is nine years old and a girl that is seven. They are competitive ice skaters, straight-A students, and while they are both in dance, the young girl is a competitive dancer.
I arrive at six-thirty in the morning for their mother to go to work and wake them at seven-thirty. I make sure they follow their normal routine of getting ready for school. I give them plenty of time before they have to get on the bus to play, but as long as they have completed their tasks. On Wednesday mornings, they have ice skating practice before school. I pick them up after they finish eating their breakfast with their mother and I am her eyes and ears while they are with their coaches.
In the afternoons, depending on their extracurriculars, I either pick them up from school to take them straight to the activity or I pick them up from the bus. At the activity, I make sure they get themselves ready in time for class and pull out their homework planners for their mother. When picking them up from the bus, I get them immediately started on homework and make them snacks. They usually have later evening activities so I help make sure they get ready before their mother gets home.
I also worked with them over the summer full time. We rarely stayed home and did nothing unless one child was sick. We went to parks, museums and had full day activities lined up. At the time, both kids were in gymnastics as well, so we had summer extracurricular schedules to work into our exploration of Cincinnati. Usually, I packed a bag of everything we would need for that day.
I worked closely with their mother on developing their schedules and any personal development of the kids. I have had to learn when to be silly with the kids, getting down and playing with them, or when I have to be the stern adult with them. It is a fine balance because they are still working on their respective skills and when their boundaries.

Abrakadoodle, Greater Cincinnati - Mobile Art Teacher, Materials Manager
For over a year now, I have been working part-time for Abrakadoodle, a mobile teaching program that goes to different job sites to teach children art. Currently, my sites go from Liberty Heights, Ohio all the way down to North College Hill. Each lesson I prepare a sample for the kids to see, and guide them through the steps of creating their own artwork. As teachers, we encourage the students to learn how to use the tools and allow them to add their own flair to the project. During class, I mainly introduce a different theme or famous artist and teach them how to use certain materials involved in the project. The age range of the classes vary from twenty months to twelve years, and we make sure that as well as doing artwork, they are learning new words, techniques, and developing fine motor skills. I guide the students through each step, keeping in mind the amount of time the students have to create the project. After each class, I review the materials with them and their parents to reaffirm the knowledge they obtained in class.
During my first school year with Abrakadoodle, I took it upon myself to help my boss pack the specialty materials we will need for a session’s worth of classes. Other franchise owners have their teachers pack their own kits or the owner packs for everyone. I took over the packing of materials for my boss so she was able to focus on marketing and hiring more teachers. Our teachers receive a kit of basic supplies they will need for any class at any given time, but each session the teachers receive a box of the paper and materials specific to a project. We pride ourselves on introducing different materials most students may have not had an opportunity to work with yet.
At monthly meetings, my boss makes rewards for various achievements. Since starting I have received an award for going above and beyond with packing materials and picking up extra sites to teach, for my first full year of teaching, and keeping a site's class roster full through the school year.

Starbucks, Kenwood Drive Through - Barista/Trainer
As a barista, my tasks vary by the time of day my shift occurs. If it is the opening shift, I arrive at four in the morning to ensure that all bulk brewed products are prepared before opening, fill ice bins, and set up espresso bars for use while the shift lead completes their tasks. Once another barista arrives, we divide and conquer tasks, and do any extra preparations we can manage with our time remaining before we open to the public. At five we go to the positions assigned by the manager. My role varies since I have been trained in every position effectively. Due to my thorough knowledge of each station and my teaching abilities, I additionally took on training our new hires. Coaching a new barista can be an overwhelming task, especially in a fast paced and chaotic environment. I am that friendly face that helps them through each position and continually supports them, even past the designated two week training period. As a whole, the team pushes to reach standards of keeping wait times low and delivering each beverage with a positive smile. If problems arise we try to make the situation right to the best of our ability. Customer service here is a way of life, one cup at a time.
