Employment History

Work Experience at Lichfield Festival - July 2013
During my 2 weeks of work experience I had to observe theatre performances and help events run at the Garrick Theatre in Lichfield which involved a lot of independent work when my mentor had other things to deal with so I was given a lot of responsibility. I also helped in running a dance workshop and helping run a Science Day for local primary schools. During the course of the work experience I managed to complete my Bronze Arts Award whilst there.

Work Experience at St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School – July 2015
I enjoyed working with a Year 6 class who had recently completed their SAT exams and were working on their end of school production. Assisting with putting the production together as well as being given a few administration jobs in the school office gave me a good insight into the mechanics of a classroom environment.

Work Experience at the Express and Star newspaper – August 2018
As journalism has always been a passion of mine, being given the opportunity to work alongside the reporters and editorial team of my local newspaper was a real privilege. I wrote many articles which were featured in the paper and in their digital version. I also got given the chance to visit St David’s court Wolverhampton and report on some ongoing cases. The end of my week involved me assisting the ‘Weekend’ segment of the paper which allowed me to explore other interests of mine such as designing the fashion double page spread and writing about my favourite television series and films.

Bar Staff – The Molineux , Wolverhampton

I began working behind the bar at the Wolverhampton Wanderers football club to gain some experience at working in the catering industry. My job role entails me stock taking, serving beverages before the football match begins and at half time as well as handling the money and balancing the till at the end of my shift. It has given me a different aspect of working life as opposed to retail to broaden my knowledge of the work place.

Current Employment

Part-Time Sales assistant at Outfit Wednesbury: 2015- present

This requires me to be observant and adapt to the working environment quickly as I must constantly be aware of shop lifters as well as offering impeccable customer service. Also, I am consistently punctual, and I am willing to work any given shifts even if they are short notice to benefit the needs of the company. Interacting with the public is my favourite part of the job as I enjoy assisting and advising them as well as engaging in polite, friendly conversation to make the customers feel welcome and happy. I have also acquired banking skills and get given the opportunity to be a duty manager where I have to maintain the shop floor, by delegating roles and being on hand to assist with any queries made by staff or customers.
