Hannahs Resume

Letter of Recommendation: 05/24/2019
To whom it may concern:
It was a pleasure to work with Hannah Carrasco in her internship as Volunteer Coordinator for the Cal Poly Pomona Tasting and Auction. As the Event Specialist, I was Hannah’s direct supervisor and within her three month position, I quickly learned how organized and proactive she is. Hannah was professional and friendly and accepted all tasks given to her and exceeded our expectations, especially with her experience with excel. She was not afraid to ask questions and was always open to suggestions and criticism.
Part of her position as Volunteer Coordinator was to market the event and find volunteers; which included her to research and reach out to Cal Poly Pomona organizations via email to inform them of the volunteer openings for the event and also design and update flyers to post around campus. She also worked with the Food and Beverage Interns and the campus Social Media Editor to create Instagram posts to market the event and the restaurants, wineries, and breweries that signed up to attend. This took a lot of communication skills as her schedule did not line up with the other interns.
Tasting and Auction normally has around 150 volunteers, and Hannah’s main task was to accept volunteer registrations and track their contact information, shirt size, and volunteer session on excel. She was always on top of it and was able to give me any information that I needed. As we approached the event, she assisted me with assigning volunteers to specific positions at the event, and created their position description lanyards for the event, and assigned radios to leads who needed them. She also created a better way to check volunteers in and out at the even by having multiple check-in lines and separating them by name so the process was much smoother than past years.
During the event, she was in charge of running the Volunteer check-in area, and was a huge help when certain volunteers did not show for their shifts. She was quick on her feet and was able to provide suggestions on replacements for those volunteers. This quick thinking is a huge part of being successful during events.
Hannah’s dedication far exceeded our expectations of an intern and I am positive that she will jump into any position and be great at her job. Tasting and Auction fell just a week away from Commencement, and just a couple days away from Finals and at no time did I feel anything but commitment to her position and the event. She has my highest recommendation and I wish I could have worked with her longer than the short time I did.
Sincerely,
Ana Domingo Event Specialist Cal Poly Pomona
