Summary
In my most recent role I served a technical editor for a military contracting agency, however, I am looking for a position that is in line with my education level and a little closer to home. I have graduated with a Bachelor’s in English however my educational background is in Education but due to a major life change I needed to graduate earlier than anticipated and was only short the teaching practicum for my education designation for my Bachelors degree.
I have also completed a Master’s in Composition and Rhetoric. I have not made an official decision on Doctoral work as I would lik to get more work experience.
Work Experience
Technical Editor/Quality Reviewer (12/2017-Present)
Edit scripts, storyboards, guided demonstrations, graphics requests. Review and ensure quality, technical correctness, and instructional soundness of draft/final interactive multimedia lesson segments. Participate in all phases of project execution (analysis, design, development, deployment).
Freelance Photographer (01/2013 – Present)
Specialize in portraits and events (Weddings, etc.) while handling all logistics and digital editing of the session. Hardware experience is with a Nikon D-Series and Sony Alpha-Series Cameras. Software experience includes Adobe Photoshop (CS6/CC), Adobe Lightroom, some Adobe Illustration (watermarking), and various commercial Photoshop plugins over the years.
High School Teacher - River City Science Academy (8/2016 – 07/2017)
Taught English IV, Complex Debate, and Intensive Reading at River City Science Academy. My curriculum adhered to state (FL) requirements for English – I specifically was charged with British Literature. While I was excited – and capable – with this “coursework”, this was not par for a 2nd year teacher.
High School Teacher - Capitol Hill High School (8/2015 – 8/2016)
I chose to teach English II at a high risk school in Oklahoma City upon graduating from UCO. This is a heavily Spanish-speaking community I taught at and was exposed to a variety of obstacles and hurdles that were never handled in college. I even had immediate exposure to teaching ESL (English as a Second Language) as well as 0E (zero English) students from first day.?
