EXPERIENCE
Research Assistant, FAM Lab, UMass Amherst; Amherst, MA — Spring 2020-Present (will be continued when instruction resumes in the fall)
I work as part of the FAM Lab, a lab in the department of psychology at UMass Amherst, under the primary investigator, Dr. Evelyn Mercado. The main focus of the lab is to study parent-adolescent relationships and the effect of those relationships on the stress levels in adolescents; in a larger sense, how these relationships affect the overall health of adolescents. I am in the research team of the Coregulation study in the data management team and the Spanish taskforce. I participate in conducting the study as well as inputting data and dealing with the data as a whole. I also participate in the team that is working to adapt our study into Spanish by translating scripts and recruiting materials.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Customer Service, Anthropologie; Natick, MA — 2019-Present(May 2019-Present)
I work in retail in a variety of different roles, as we all switch off doing shipment, customer service, cash register, and working in outfitting the customers. I communicate with customers every day over the phone and in-store.
Food Service, Kitchen Staff, Dates and Olives; Natick, MA — Winter Break 2018-2019
I worked over winter break my freshman year as part of the kitchen staff in this Mediterranean restaurant. I helped prepare meals for lunch and dinner, as well as aiding in food prep, cleaning the kitchen, washing dishes, etc. I learned a lot about working in a kitchen with other staff as well as a lot of things about food safety.
Nanny, Mines Family; Natick, MA — 2018-Winter 2019
I worked as a nanny for two children, the 5 years old I would play with and watch and the older daughter in high school I would drive from activity to activity. I would do grocery shopping for the family and cook the kids dinner at times. I would pick the kids up from school and became a model figure in their lives as I would work every day of the week and on some weekend nights.
Food Service/Cashier, C&L Frosty; Sherborn, MA — Summer 2017(June-September)
I worked in the kitchen with finishing the food orders (putting the food together made by the cooks in an order, adding drinks, sauces, and serving them to customers), scooped ice cream, made other desserts. I interacted with customers at the registers and with over-the-phone orders, and when handing customers their food.
Customer Service/Cashier, Reliable Cleaners; Natick, MA — 2015-2017
I took in customers’ clothing and sorted the items, helped with the wash, dry, and fold, bagged the dry cleaning, organized the clothing, and attended to customers at the cash register as well as over the phone.
Food Service/Cashier, Sunshine Farm; Sherborn, MA — Summer 2014(June-September)
I scooped ice cream and made other dessert options. I communicated with customers at the window and over the phone. As well as making the desserts I washed the dishes and cleaned the store at opening and closing as well as the outdoor seating area.
