Business:
I earned my master’s degree in Art Education from Virginia Commonwealth University and currently teach elementary art in Washington, DC. My ultimate passion is to see students reach their creative potential through arts education. The visual and performing arts serve as an outlet in which students can make greater connections in their lives inside and outside the classroom. I believe the VCUarts program provided me with the rigorous training I need to make a positive impact in the lives of students anywhere I teach. This program was no easy task and required a great deal of motivation and self-discipline. In addition, it has also provided me with many opportunities to think creatively in various situations-which could in turn be used as a stimulative tool for any employer or provide possible solutions to difficult problems. I pride myself on completing assigned tasks to the best of my ability in an orderly and timely fashion. And in addition to my dedicated hard-working personality, I am a passionate, easy-going individual who loves developing strong relationships with people. In my spare time I love to play the piano, compose music, sing, paint, and write children’s literature. Music and art are my passions and since I have concentrations in both I feel that my creative ability, along with good eyes and ears, could be beneficial to any employer.
