Experienced Fashion Industry Photographer & Social Media Manager
Catherine Young is a designer & artist from Portland, Oregon. Her lifetime of fine arts experience helps her navigate each challenge that comes her way as a Creative Consultant, Fine Artist, and Photographer.
After graduating with a BFA in Fashion Design from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, Catherine lived and worked in New York City for over five years. Upon graduation, she was the second hire at luxury footwear company Paul Andrew where she worked for over three years as Assistant Designer and Social Media & Special Projects Manager. During her time with the company, she worked closely with Paul to shape the customer facing identity of the brand. She took a leading role in the brand winning the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund in 2014 as well as two separate CFDA Awards nominations, and handmade everything from a wearable glass slipper for Disney's live action Cinderella to a Swarovski encrusted wind turbine.
Catherine later played an imperative role in the growth and exposure of female owned and established womenswear brand Cushnie Et Ochs. She guided head designers Carly Cushnie and Michelle Ochs in defining their brand signature in all customer facing outlets as the brand experienced huge growth after taking on investment for the first time, grew a thriving online fanbase, and assisted in art direction for several seasons of the brand's New York Fashion Week shows and events including a three month residence at the CFDA Retail Lab.
Now Portland based, Catherine leverages her wealth of experience in creative direction to consult both small and large companies on brand image and social media presence. She most enjoys working one on one with clients locally and in NYC to grow their global presence through a strong creative vision, curated original content that she creates or directs, and a genuine connection to existing and potential clients.
