Email Campaign Management, Desktop Publishing & Technical Writing
Wrote and distributed a daily email newsletter regarding local and national news and education to the members of
non-profit campaign in the Reno Tahoe area. Desktop publishing included a 12 page monthly newsletter for a
Software Quality professional association, and a 2 page weekly bulletin, tri-fold brochures, and bulk mail preparation.

Training / Public Speaking
Developed and delivered a workshop for non-profit volunteer participants, most of whom had little if any experience
in this ministry. Prepared and presented opening, midway and closing rallies for campaign, including introducing and
wrapping up for the Silent No More speakers. Presented a 3 day course on Internal Auditing and developed and
presented an ISO 9000 course at TMCC, a community college in Reno. Gave talks at conferences, professional
associations and trade shows. Presented corporate audit findings to Sr. Management and team members invited to participate in the review process. Substitute taught for a teacher on a 6-week maternity leave, working with Middle School and High School students, teaching Science, English, and American Literature.
Event & Travel Planning
Chaired the 2018 Spring Wine and Beer Tasting for Children of the Immaculate Heart, soliciting advance funds to
underwrite the event, and ensure success of our fundraising efforts.
As Conference Chair of an international conference, was responsible for the oversight of conference planning,
including staff, budget, schedule, site selection, marketing, and vendor contracts. Interfaced with national
organization oversight, committee chairs, volunteers, speakers, and vendors, resulting in a successful and profitable
conference, drawing attendees from five continents, and a balanced speaker panel.
As founder and manager of Professional Lifestyles Day, introduced girls who had been labeled “High Risk” to the
range of possibilities associated with working in the High-Tech Industry. This one day program was repeated annually
for 3 years, with increased student and volunteer participation each year, from 12 adult participants the first year to
75 the third. 200 girls were served the last year the program was offered during which they saw women in a range
of positions from entry level to senior management and from high tech to the social sciences.
As an ISO 9000 Registered Lead Auditor, I was responsible for making all my own travel reservations. I spent more
time on the road than at home.
Project Management, Program Management
Managed a non-profit campaign in Reno Tahoe through 8 successful cycles of volunteer efforts, coordinating web
site maintenance, email communications, media outreach, promotion with supporters, budget, purchasing and volunteer development. Obtained training through the national campaign’s virtual network, hosted on-line, including webinars and a forum for local campaign coordinators. Responsible for project management of the Human Genome Project data banks. Responsible for tracking development of a Sales Force Automation product. Resolved product
incidents as they arose, coordinating efforts of the team to best meet customer expectations.
Website Architectural Development and Maintenance
Coordinated a total website rewrite with a local website vendor, including identifying requirements and specifying
layout. Responsible for on-going website maintenance.
Volunteer Organization Management / Leadership
Managed the Sierra Tahoe Girl Scouts Service Unit, consisting of more than 50 local volunteers, for three years.
Published a Leader Handbook to orient new leaders to the resources available to them. Managed the Girl Scout
cookie sales for 2 years, while assisting a troop member to attain the highest individual cookie sales in Northern
Nevada. Co-led a troop of girls from Kindergarten through 8th grade, bringing them through a range of activities and
leadership opportunities. Founded and executed “Professional Lifestyles Day” a program developed to introduce
High Risk Youth to the advantages of getting an education.
Sales and Marketing
Marketed ISO 9000 registrar services through presentations to senior management of prospect firms. Marketed participation in non-profit activities through phone calls, targeted bulk mail and email solicitations and fundraising event coordination. Served as media representative for several non-profits, targeting different audiences for each.
ISO 9000 Audits
As a Registered Lead Auditor, responsible for assessing business management practices of large and small
companies throughout the Western Region of the USA to the requirements of the ISO 9000 Standard. Maintained
Configuration Management and Quality Assurance Department Management
Managed a Configuration Management / Quality Assurance Department, with multiple software project deliverables.
Brought in a team of inexperienced scientific content specialists who were trained to define and document test cases in advance of automating the test process. Forty percent of short-term team converted to permanent hires.
Responsibilities ranged from working with vendor project teams to define project plans and deliverables, to working
on the highest visibility compiler project to define product testing during a port to a new computer architecture.
Implemented test driver re-architecture, resulting in simplified test data collection and report generation.
