Enthusiastic & Creative Psychology Major Seeking Internship Opportunities
Hello there!
I'm Wendy Bess, an enthusiastic and motivated self-starter seeking an opportunity to utilize my strong work ethic and immense love for interacting with people in a professional setting. I currently hold a 3.96 GPA and will be graduating in January 2020 with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology with an emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis.
I'm a Certified Health Coach as well as a Registered Behavior Technician with experience providing behavioral therapy to children with developmental disabilities. My love for entrepreneurship occupies much of my free time and has helped me to launch many independent projects which I have profited greatly from. My most successful businesses are selling customized acrylic paintings, purchasing thrift store items and selling them through an online platform, and providing personal training sessions. Meanwhile, I've been working in the food and hospitality industry for the past 7 years which has sharpened my teamwork, multitasking, and interpersonal skills immensely.
Utilizing my love for creativity and my desire to make a positive impact on my community, I have organized fundraisers for causes that I am truly passionate about. Through the support of my community and my love for creating baked goods, I raised over $900 in 2 weeks for The Freedom House, a long-term shelter home for the survivors of human trafficking in the Bay Area. 100% of the proceeds went towards providing safe housing, legal, health, and other aftercare services for the survivors. For the Secord Harvest Food Bank, I raised over $800 in a week by selling natural, handcrafted soaps. 100% of the proceeds provided nutritious meals for the low-income families in the community and with each dollar, the food bank was able to stretch it into 3 meals - which provided 2,400 meals!
All in all, I have a strong passion to expand my horizons every single day through acquiring new skills and learning from others. I want to utilize my energy and experience towards building something greater than myself and am open to any opportunities in the San Diego area.
