Manages staff members and content of all sections in the country's largest independent student-run newsroom.
Curates and manages the newspaper's Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Twitch accounts and shares its daily stories.
Tracks analytics of the newspaper's social media. Implements social media campaigns and engagement strategies alongside the social media strategist, a position I created to ensure our social presence is as thorough, interactive and abundant as possible
Launching a news podcast, which I cohost and coproduce, to expand upon reporting and show the humanity behind stories while highlighting the journalistic process. Coordinated with the advertising department to begin selling ad space on the podcast to fund it and add revenue into the newsroom.
Began the first "behind-the-scenes of a newsroom" Twitch stream to invite transparency into our workplace and coverage.
Edits and puts together a print newspaper two days a week and daily online content.
Manages payroll for about 40 employees

Hired and managed a team of six staff writers and a social media strategist for the Avenue, the culture and entertainment section.
Created a social media strategist position to grow our audience engagement and reach.
Managed and edited reporting on music, theater, fashion, TV, movies, food and drink, nightlife and lifestyle pertaining to UF students and the larger Gainesville area for a weekly section and online content throughout the week.
Worked with the social media strategist to increase our following on both Twitter and Instagram by nearly 50% and increase audience engagement.
Expanded the section to include video game coverage.
Cohosted and coproduced the most popular episode of "The Roundup" the section's podcast.
Encouraged and helped my writers pursue and publish enterprise stories.
Assisted in producing stories for the year-long Poynter College Media Project, for which The Alligator produced "Who is Gainesville?"
