EXPERIENCE
Sam Adams and McChord Event Center (Current Employer): At MWR, the military installation employer for military and civilian personnel, I have been able to apply and further refine all aspects of my customer service and client interaction talents. All my prior experience culminated in a position of being relied upon to manage restaurant events for 250+ attendance. I excelled at efficiently multi-tasking and ensuring all expectations were met by all parties. This unique position has allowed me to learn new ways to communicate effectively and professionally between management and clients, which was key to a successful event. Administratively, I redesigned an inventory system for alcohol and refreshments that was utilized by management for reordering and status of current stock on hand. Additionally, I was responsible for opening and closing operations and ensuring all SOPs and legal requirements were followed and documented. Reconciled all accounts used and submitted documentation to management.
702 Grill: At this local popular restaurant in downtown Olympia, I wore many hats and honed my techniques to really shine in all situations. Mastering prioritization and time management in this demanding environment, I quickly became very adept in all designated roles and very successful at working without managerial intervention as host, server, bartender, food runner, and busser for every shift. Most importantly, I learned to remain calm, friendly and resilient while under pressure and facing various obstacles.
Chili’s Ramstein Air Base: A very successful overseas based restaurant run by the United States Air Force in Germany. I operated as a server in an extremely fast-paced environment, where I learned to work with a variety of personalities and perform as a team player. Recognized for my ability to improve safety and overall efficiency through reorganizing work stations, I was promoted with a pay raise within the first 6 months of employment, and to trainer within 90 days. A quick learner and an eye for detail, I was promoted to a Quality Assurance position where I was the only liaison between front and heart of house. I was trusted to ensure all inaccuracies were corrected and the processes were maintained.
Scrubbing Scholars: At 18, started my own residential and commercial cleaning business. Marketed services through self-built website and utilized social media effectively to build a loyal customer base. Learned how to manage time and the many different components to operating a successful business such as comprehensively handling all administrative aspects including stocking, scheduling, recording, filing, and taxation. A self-starter and hard worker, I built a reliable business for my clients.
