Engineering Intern May 2018-Current
Manes Machine and Engineering, Fort Collins, Colorado
• Created complex 2D and 3D drawings and models with Catia V5 in accordance to current aerospace standards
• Reverse engineered assembly tools to optimize assembly time and tool modifications
• Improved manufacturing plans with lean manufacturing techniques and kaizen processes
• Interpreted customer drawings and documentation, and clearly communicated pertinent information to coworkers and machinists
• Presented professional documents and spreadsheets with Microsoft Office products
Work Leader August 2016- August 2018 Allison Dining Hall, Fort Collins, Colorado
• Responsible for training new and current employees to current dining hall culture, expectations, and standards
• Brought individuals together efficiently to complete tasks and problems in a timely manor
Academic Projects
Senior Design: Wheelchair Update
• Project designer. Modeled a new steering system for the wheelchair in Creo Parametric. Also tasked with modeling prototypes, proof of concepts, and force analysis on designs
• Helped the project coordinator create scheduling, process sheets for manufacturing, and technical reports
• Assisted coding G-code for a 3 axis CNC, fabricating designs, and measuring parts for conformance
Mechatronics: Gesture Controlled RC Car
• Fabricated an RC car with wireless movement control via broadcasted signals from a transmitter attached to the user’s hand
• Constructed a wiring diagram of the RC car schematic, analyzed voltage and power requirements for motors, and coded an Arduino to multiple interfaces
Manufacturing/ 3D printing
• Fabricated a mechanical clock using hand-controlled machinery and a 5 axis CNC
• Designed and 3D printed wind turbine wings to attach onto a small-scale turbine for competition
CAD/FEA
• Reverse engineered windshield wiper linkages with Solidworks to optimize the original design
• Assessed a bike handlebar model with ANSYS to understand states of stress and optimum design modifications
