AS A DESIGN CONSULTANT WITH HOMEWORK REMODELING:
--Accompanied owner/project manager to client meetings to determine project requirements

-Conducted research for materials and furnishings
--Using design software, developed floor plans, electrical and lighting plans, and elevations for use by tradesmen and to help clients visualize the project
--Researched/sourced materials and furnishings to write project proposals
--Participated in local trade shows to advertise the company's projects/cultivate new clients

AS A DESIGN INTERN WITH PERCEPTIONS INTERIORS:
--Met with potential and contracted clients to ascertain their needs
--Researched/specified materials, furnishings, fabrics
--Conducted field surveys to gather measurements and information for furniture placement and window treatments
--Used design programs to develop floor plans, lighting plans and elevations
--Researched, developed and procured door signage for a 100-unit condominium renovation project

PREVIOUS DESIGN EXPERIENCE
-Before deciding to pursue an Interior Design degree at the Art Institute:
--Planned an 1,800 sq ft basement renovation that included a full bath, home office, zoned lighting, and a home theater system totaling approximately $80,000. Sourced/purchased all finishing materials, furnishings, plumbing fixtures, flooring, and lighting
--Planned a complete interior remodel of a 1970s-era home to include writing a contract, hiring/
supervising workers, and purchasing all materials. Installed a new HVAC system, energy-efficient
windows and roof, along with flooring and lighting
---Completely renovated two bathrooms and installed accessible items for 80-year old client
The budget for the project was $50,000; it was completed for $46,000
--An accomplished seamstress--clothing and home décor; vast knowledge of textiles
