I am a talented creative that has a passion for helping people achieve their vision for an unique and personal experience. This comes at a time when I am transitioning into the event planning industry.
I have worked as a communications professional in design, media & marketing for the past 9+ years in a variety of industries, including: beauty, hospitality, book publishing, solar, technology, non-profit and the arts. I am fully confident my skills will translate well into this position, with any gaps filled with my fast-track education from my Event Planner Course Certification. My experiences have helped me gain immeasurable people skills, passion, and an excitement for new technology.
New skills from current certification:
* Event registration
* How to set up an event space or meeting room to maximize flow
* How to manage the food and beverage element of an event and work with BEOS
* The basics of AV, setup and decor
* How to choose an event that's right for the group
* How to do a site inspection
* How to work with vendors
* The importance of onsite staff and how to manage them
* The important elements of contracts and RFPs
Transferrable skills from career in design and marketing:
� Creatively led and managed third-party partners or vendors (printers, creatives, consultants)
� Created RFP's for government and large portfolio clients
� Oversaw content creation for website, educational and sales presentation material
� Managed partnership accounts
� Created lead generation content and managed leads in a CRM database
� Helped coordinate marketing and management for internal office and partnership events
