Uses Esri software, such as ArcMap, ArcPro, ArcCatalog, and ArcGIS Online, to make geographic datasets and render various types of maps and map documents. Critically analyzes geospatial datasets and maps related to both the campus� geography department and current GIS students. Manages inventory of geographic data in the university�s GIS database. Helps students in the introductory GIS classes use Esri software to create datasets and maps, as well as perform spatial analysis. Helps students troubleshoot issues related to dataset creation and Esri software. Processes, maintains, and documents geographic data for various members of the geography department.

University of Richmond Anthropology Department, Richmond, Virginia � GIS Research Student
OCTOBER 2019 - PRESENT

Works with the chair of the Anthropology department on an interdisciplinary Anthropology and GIS research project that is focused on spatially researching, understanding, and analyzing the Latino community in the greater Richmond area in regard to resources and connectivity. Collects geographic, most commonly GPS, data and uses it to create GIS datasets and render map documents. Creates and manages all of the data files related to the geographic information that is collected during the research gathering process. Analyzes geographic data to find links, blockages, and other socio spatial patterns. Creates map documents based on the collected research and findings, then presents them to the department chair using map documents based on the project�s GIS data.

Throughout my five semesters at the University of Richmond, I have taken and successfully completed courses in GIS, such as an introductory GIS course as well as Advanced Geospatial Analysis, in addition to other technical geography courses, such as Environmental Remote Sensing. Through this coursework, I have developed proficiencies in Esri and ENVI software while working with different types of data, such as population and land cover change, and digital images and models, such as maps and digital elevation models.

Proficient in Esri software such as ArcMap, ArcPro, ArcCatalog, and ArcGIS Online, in addition to ENVI software and the Lidar Remote Sensing method.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
