Currently studying English Literature at the University of Leeds, on track for a first-class degree.
Having completed year one I am searching for work experience were I can utilize my transferable skills such as, creative writing, communicating and analysing.
I am a hardworking and imaginative individual with highly developed writing abilities and an analytical mind.

English Literature (First Class predicted)
• Studying an English Literature degree requires a great deal of research and independent study outside of University teaching including reading primary texts from a wide range of genres.
• Analysing texts to find their deeper meaning and exploring arguments of critics, agreeing and disagreeing with their arguments to create my own original conclusions.
• Can communicate effectively, both orally and verbally. Essays are coherent, analytical and show great knowledge of Literary concepts and theories.
• Shown confidence and passion for my chosen topic in oral presentations by communicating my ideas with confidence and originality.
• Critical reasoning and analysis revealed in seminar classes when leading debates. I have covered topics surrounding gender inequality, sexism, the effects of time, politics and social hierarchy.

• Independent researcher. Carried out research looking at poetry archives, locating the original texts before comparing it to the published versions.

Work History and Experience
2019 - 2020 Tesco Express
• Team member at Tesco’s working as a cashier and restocking products.
• Ability to multi task and work effectively when serving customers. Performed tasks such as, taking payments, handling gas and telephone bills, standardizing the stock behind tills and organising parcel pickups and returns.
• Served alcohol and tobacco which required customers to show identification and proof of age. Refused to sell alcohol to those without identification and explained confidently that it is illegal to sell then the product. Often dealt with aggressive behaviour when a purchases were refused.
2018 - 2019 Mark’s and Spencer
• Team worker at Mark’s and Spencer working on the Lingerie department. Managed and coordinated my team ensuring each section of the shop floor had someone available to assist customers.
• Organised the department, made sure stock was correctly rotated and new stock was placed in the correct section of the shop to ensure the department was presentable and prepared for the following day. This also enhanced visual presentation thus, boosted sales.
• To increase sales it was vital to advertise deals on offer at M&S. Loyalty cards, weekly offers and improvements to the store enabled the shop to bring in new customer, keep regular shoppers and boost sales whilst promoting the brand.
• Communication skills through taking time to speak and advise customers between serving on tills and putting out stock. Demonstrating excellent customer service and ability to refocus on a task.
Interests and Achievements
Sporting Achievements
• Team sports, I am an active team member of the University Hockey team. I am a lively and bubbly team player with the ability to engage with the team and listen to instructions given by my captain.
• Sports Captain, required me to organise inter school tournaments and training schedules, for netball and athletics. Coaching younger pupil’s afterschool demonstrated dedication and strong leadership skills.
• Athletics achievements, Lancashire Champion three years running for the 100m and 200m sprint exhibiting my motivation to achieve and excel.
• Represented Lancashire in The English Schools Athletics Association developing my ability to keep calm and composed in stressful situations.
Interests
• Gluten free Baking, created a gluten free blog and Instagram account (Gluten_free_made_simple) displaying new ideas, recipes and photographs in an original and aesthetic way.
• Interrailed across Europe. Visited cultural sites such as, the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam and the Széchenyi Thermal baths in Budapest which were filled with fascinating history and vibrant culture.
• Also, visited Bali which was bursting with culture from it’s beautiful Temples and rice fields to its exotic food. Attended a traditional cooking course at Casa Luna Cooking School which enabled me to taste new exciting flavours and learn about the history of Balinese food.
