My academic and working experience has provided a wide range of exposure in urban planning, land use, sustainability development, policy analysis, environmental strategy development, data analysis, real estate research, and internal and external communications assistance.

I recently graduated from Columbia University, where I studied urban planning, concentrating on Built Environment, Urban Analytics and Real Estate Finance. I have been academically trained as an urban planner, designer and analyst for more than 6 years. My experiences include multiple studying abroad opportunities in both China and the United Kingdom and learning advanced knowledge of urban comprehensive planning, urban redevelopment, sustainability development, urban design, real estate development and project coordination. In my 6 years of academic practice, I always took a leadership role in the group-work projects, performing coordination with group members to ensure the project run on a schedule and the quality meet requirements.

Outside of time in school, I have devoted myself to prepare myself for the professional working environment. I am currently working as a junior consultant at Nautilus International Development Consulting, Inc., where I support the Village of Haverstraws Comprehensive Plan project and its Local Waterfront Revitalization Program through qualitative research, quantitative analysis, and diagram making. Additionally, I was awarded by the Fund for the City of New York Community Planning Fellowship Program and worked for Manhattan Community Board 4 as a planning fellow. I collaborated with a community coalition to prepare a neighborhood plan responding to a redevelopment project of Port Authority in the Hells Kitchen South. I supported qualitative and quantitative research and analysis of transportation, housing, and open space, while delivering charts, maps and presentations to various stakeholders including different public entities. While my experiences in two provincial urban design/planning institutions in China a few years ago also allowed me to practice what I learned inside the classroom to a real-world setting and further develop my skills in analyzing, designing and completing real planning projects at different levels.

Besides that, I am also working for an asset management firm at midtown Manhattan, where I support market research and qualitative analysis of different projects. My previous experience at a real estate development company at Soho, NY allowed me to assist with financial modeling and market research for different projects too. In addition, I had great strategic consulting experience at Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) last summer. Leveraging my interdisciplinary exploration of the built environment and real estate, I supported multiple city-scale projects including transportation projects by tackling market, asset and fund-level performance data, analyzing social, economic and environmental factors, and delivering preliminary development strategies. I led inter-department collaboration and external collaboration with both private and public clients to set up project requirements, scopes, justification and deliverables at each stage. I was also responsible for ensuring the project schedule to be on track and plan scope to be protected through weekly meetings and project tracker sheets.

In the future, I yearn to leverage my knowledge in the built environment and contribute my passion and skills to a research & planning team. Thank you for taking your time to consider my candidacy. I attached my resume as part of my application package, which will give you a detail description of my experiences and qualification.
