August 2019 - Present Boston University School of Theology Employee

Outline
Upon arriving to Boston, I was given a job at Boston University School of Theology. I hold two main roles in this position; Raices Latinas coordinator and assistant to Christian De la Rosa. Due to the flexible hours and being able to work whenever I want, this job has helped me with time management and personal organization.

Key responsibilities
 Raices Latinas
o This is a non-profit group which Dr. Cristian De La Rosa runs. Its purpose is to encourage Latinx students to continue into higher education after college. Every year the program host students at different universities to introduce them to higher education options. This job requires me to organize events surrounding Raices Latinas. Sending emails, checking in on current members, and collecting money and sponsors to help keep the organization on float.
 Cristian De La Rosa
o Dr. Cristian De La Rosa is a professor at Boston University School of Theology. She is well known in her field for her research in Latin America, specifically on the imagery and significance of Maria Guadalupe. Being her assistant requires one to be able to efficiently organize files (both in paper and the computer), to send emails on her behalf, have good knowledge on how to use a computer and phone, while also helping students who wish to see her, but she is either not in or too busy.

June 2015 - Present Lincoln United Methodist Church Employee

Outline
During my time at the Lincoln United Methodist Church (LUMC), I worked multiple jobs. Most of the jobs revolve around social justice or legal secretarial work. I held leadership roles on occasion and supporting roles as well. Our talents were used where we needed it the most during any given project.

Key responsibilities
DACA reviewer, assistant secretary, and trainer
o Residents would come into the church and I would oversee filling out their DACA (renewal) application, reviewing other peoples application (specifically looking for errors or missed areas), and training people on how to fill out their own or others applications.
 FUERZA JUVENTUDE
o This is an outreach group. Part of the tasks was calling people to show up for events, organizing events, showing up to and planning protests revolving around social justice issues (immigration, racism, and education to name a few).
 Interview Team and Speaker
o During times when an interview was asked of or a speaker for the church was requested; I would often be sent to represent the church or speak about my experiences as an immigrant, dreamer and DACA recipient.
o This job required heavy research and memorization. Every interview topic was researched thoroughly. The information, date it was realised, and the source was memorized every time an interview was requested (even if the topic was a repeat topic). A debate was also expected for certain interviews, and therefore research was usually done for both sides to better argue against my opponent(s).

Key achievements
Helping pass two resolutions at City Hall in Chicago. I spoke at city hall, both times I gave statics for each subject coupled with my own personal experience as a reinforcing point. Subject one was for Chicago to publicly condemn the current president for holding immigrant children at the border. The second was addressing the increase in illegal I.C.E raids in the Hispanic heavy areas in Chicago.

January 2017 June 2019 Carthage College Security/Public Safety

Outline
Carthage College Security just recently changed its name to Public Safety. This is due to the new initiative to connect more with the students and be available for more non-threatening situations which might occur on campus.

Key responsibilities
 Shuttle Driving
o Driving students to a lot where their car was held if they did not park on campus
o Driving teachers to and from school
o Driving local community members to college for special events
o Driving sports/academic teams to events or conferences.
o Part of this job also entailed a great deal of trust. Due to shuttle drivers having access to the radio during our shift, we would also be able to hear when a tragedy happens on campus. Car accidents and emergency situations happened on occasion and we were trusted to stay silent on the subject till the college made a public announcement.
