ARTIST BIO
Adriana Silva | Art by La Perdida

Puerto Rican mixed media artist, Adriana Silva has been cultivating her creative skills since elementary school. Originally an advertising and marketing professional, Adriana left the corporate world behind in order to get back to her art roots. A self-taught painter, she started her former training as a mosaic artist in West Dean College in the UK.

After exploring various mediums and techniques, Silva blended her love of paint with her mosaic skills, resulting in impactful work that exudes color, light and movement. Her art is influenced by tropical landscapes, Latin culture and color psychology. She sees her creative process more like a spiritual practice; a way of grounding and losing herself in the present moment; hence the name La Perdida (the lost one). Her intention is to create a visual language that makes a statement all on its own.

Adriana is currently based on a studio near the beach in Humacao, PR. Shes been published by Mad Art Magazine, exhibited in local art shows and her work currently hangs in private collections in Miami, California, and Puerto Rico.

WORK STATEMENT

My work is about being lost.... lost in color, lost in beauty, lost in the moment. For me, colors are a statement ...of that which we dont have any words for, but want to communicate. A statement... of what we are feeling inside, but cant really explain. A statement ... of the mystery of life itself. I believe they speak the language of our hearts. My art is an evolving story of my love affair with color. Like in an endless dance with a lover, they are the melodies that make me come alive.
