GENERAL SUMMARY
The Utility Worker provides full-scope, hands on various food service functions in a community Culinary department. Responsible for maintaining clean and sanitary condition of food service areas, facilities, and equipment. May assist in some aspects of food preparation. Is responsible for providing a superior level of quality service and cleanliness at all times.

1. Exemplify at all times community standards of cleanliness, sanitation and operational organization.
2. Responsible for adhering to food quality, appearance and presentation standards at all times.
3. Perform kitchen activities including ware-washing system set-up and break down, dish washing, pot washing, general cleaning duties, storing of food and non-food supplies, and prep production.
4. Assist servings with setting of tables and work station areas as well as clearing tables.
5. Clean and sanitize production equipment, work surfaces, ware-washing system, and areas in kitchen.
6. Knowledge of diets provided and served correctly per policy and procedure.
7. Represent the community in a warm and inviting manner, which creates a positive marketing environment.
8. Supports creating a culture where the business decisions made in this position, along with individual team member engagement, drive top-line revenue and occupancy.

21. Come to work in a clean, neat uniform and consistently present an appropriate professional appearance.
22. Come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality, complies with attendance policy.
23. Assume accountability for data contained in the team member handbook.
24. Assumes accountability for compliance with Federal, State, and other regulations within scope of control and of which informed.
25. Observe infection control procedures.
26. Follow Residents� Rights policies at all times.
27. Observe all community policies and procedures.
28. Accept assigned duties, instructions or correction in a cooperative manner, voicing concerns or disagreement in a professional manner through established chain of authority according to state procedures.
29. Perform incidental housekeeping and maintenance tasks as may arise during the course of regular duties, in order to maintain a clean, safe, pleasant environment for residents, visitors and team members.
30. Perform all other related duties as assigned in an effective, timely, and professional manner.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school education or equivalent.
Experience: Six months experience in utility or dishwashing preferred.
Mathematical
Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Skills: Ability to follow directions given by supervisor.
Oral/Written
Communication Skills Ability to routinely process written information as in policies and procedures, posted notices, instruction materials. Complete forms and other written documentation. Observe resident actions, gestures, facial expressions.
Equipment Used: Standard food production equipment for quantity food
preparation.
Personal computer
Physical Effort: Must be mobile. Must be in good health and physically and mentally capable of performing assigned tasks.
Personal Characteristics: Possesses good character and displays high degree of personal integrity. Displays sincere compassion towards cognitively impaired older adults. Demonstrates genuine concern for the physical and emotional needs of older people and their families.
Working Conditions: Well-lighted, air-conditioned health care environment. Ability to withstand extremes of heat and cold; ability to withstand odors from food preparation.
