Undergraduate Research Assistant – Resiliency, Identity, and Sexuality in Emerging Adulthood Spring 2016 – Spring 2018
• Compiled meaningful and relevant articles for the literature review, authored the implications sections over the intersection between sexual and religious identity for the LGBTQ+ population
• Received publications in the Journal of Gay and Lesbian Social Sciences and the Journal of Sexuality and Culture
• Presented research at the National Council on Family Relations, and provided three community based-presentations

Undergraduate Research Assistant – Healthy Adult and Adolescent Research Team Fall 2018 – Spring 2019
• Conducted research alongside graduate students, Ph.D. Candidates and Postdoctoral students over adolescent teen pregnancies
• Coded qualitative interviews, and translated Spanish interviews while investigating the change in dating violence trends over time





LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE AND ACTIVITIES

Student Foundation – Student Opportunity Award Committee Chairman April 2018 – May 2019
• Recruit a diverse committee of students responsible for reviewing applications of students at risk of termination due to lack of financial resources
• Allocate and distribute $97,500 worth of awards to over 75 students, in partnership with the Office of Student Financial Assistance
• Maintain a list of scholarship recipients, and collect stories to be shared with marketing and promotional teams to increase donations

Student Foundation – Membership Selection Revision Committee Member January 2018 – June 2018
• Review each step of the membership selection process to remove systematic and personal bias to enhance the diversity of the new member class
• Presented over this process at the National Conference for Student Advancement in support of other student organizations.

Student Foundation – K-State Proud Director of Volunteers August 2017 – May 2018
• Create a meaningful volunteer training program designed to equip students with knowledge, skills, and information to promote the signature program of the Student Foundation
• Oversee a committee of members within the organization focused on recruiting, retaining and acknowledging volunteers for contributions to the campaign’s mission and vision

RESULTS – The Power to End Poverty – REAL Change Fellow (2015), Group Leader (2016-Current) Spring 2015 – Current
• Conducted meetings with members of congress and sponsored a statewide media campaign telling stories of poverty to the top 10 most widely circulated newspapers throughout the state
• Recruited students and community members to take through an onboarding process for groups of volunteers up to 200 people, equipping them with skills to develop advocacy and engage with members of congress

Office of Diversity and Multicultural Student Affairs – Multicultural Student Center Action Team January 2017- December 2018
• Worked alongside campus administration to implement an intercultural immersion experience for incoming students, taking place throughout orientation and enrollment.
• Provided critical student testimony in the final proposal to the Kansas Board of Regents (Project approved: December 6, 2018)
• Served as a featured panelist at Wildcat Dialogues; designed to expose first-year students to diversity, social justice, and civic action

Living and Dying in Kansas – Co-founder, and grant-writer May 2017 – August 2017

• Organized civil disobedience to take place in Washington D.C, during the 2016 Affordable Care Act repeal effort
• Implemented direct action community organizing techniques to generate grassroots momentum, digital and print media and engage community members in reaching out to members of congress
• Co-Authored a grant providing funding for community journalism revealing local health inequality ($25,000 approved by the Kansas Health Foundation)
