My name is Marzia Giua, I’m a licensed clinical psychologist in Italy since 2006 specialized in Systemic-Relational Psychotherapy since 2012.
I’m a Forensic Consultant for the Public Prosecutor at the Civil and Penal Court of Rome: I work with the Italian Police Department in cases of violence and abuse against women and children.
I’m also specialized in Psychodiagnostics, EMDR method, Forensic Psychology and Family Mediation.

As a licensed psychologist in Italy, I have almost 13 years of experience managing individual, couple and family sessions, helping patients to achieve their goals, and I feel confident that I would help benefit the lives of your patients.

My work includes cases concerning on mood disorders, eating disorders, sexuality orientation issues and trauma related to abuse and violence.
My extensive experience has been focused on patients of different ages and cultural backgrounds and with different conditions and issues. I can be deeply oriented to communicate with people effectively and, therefore, I am able to adapt my approach according to individual needs.

I really enjoy the challenge of working with different clients. Having an international background and being an immigrant from another country, could open the possibility for me to better understand all those who are fighting against prejudice and cultural differences.

I currently do not have a psychologist license in Florida, however, I understand the license and eligibility requirements, as well as the laws and rules for the EPPP exam since I previously have contacted the Florida Board of Psychology. It wouldn’t be an issue for me to take the examinations.
In fairness I would like to point out that since I’m an Italian applicant I’ll need a Visa Sponsorship to legally work in US.

I understand very well how important community service is, from the richest to the poorest communities. This has led me to volunteer at different Institutions in Italy, and it taught me how rewarding it is to help people who are less lucky than others. For this reason I also tried as much as I could, to raise public awareness by making a few appearances on Italian National TV stations. Through this, I discussed Homeless for The Salvation Army, violence against women, Pedophilia and Alzheimer disease.

I’m an external councelor for the American Pennsylvania college, Temple University in Rome. I’m an accredited professional member of International Health Insurance “CIGNA”.

I’m an APA member since 2015, I also won two grants for two speeches at the 2015 APA Convention in Toronto. I’m also an AICR (American International Club of Rome) member.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
MARZIA GIUA, Psy.D
