Hello, my name is Christopher Whitcomb and recent graduate of the prestigious Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. My degree in journalism has provided me an excellent foundation in which to build on going forward and one I hope take advantage of. I look forward to my future in communications and I am excited for the journey ahead.
FedEx Office Consultant/Lead Consultant January 2018-Present
I have been at FedEx Office since January 2018 and was promoted to Lead Consultant at store 0809 in September. Working at a Tier II store has allotted me the chance to work on a variety of projects with a variety of difficulty. I came in with a small amount of experience and have had the chance to grow a lot over the last year and I have returned after a short leave in November-February to pursue another opportunity.
The Daily Courier November 2018-February 2019
I am currently a sports reporter and page designer for The Daily Courier, a daily newspaper in Prescott, Arizona. During my time here, I have had the opportunity to cover local sports at the high school, college and professional level with everything from Prescott High School and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University to the Northern Arizona Suns. In addition to my reporting, I have also gained a lot of new skills in the world of pagination and design through the use of Adobe products from Photoshop to InDesign. Although I’ve only been here a short time, I have come to the conclusion that Prescott is not an ideal place for my family and I am pursuing other opportunities.
The Arizona Republic August 2017-December 2017
I was a sports reporter for the Arizona Republic for the fall semester of 2017. This internship put me out in the heart of the action, coving everything from high school football and volleyball championship games to everything in between. I learned a great deal about photography as well during my time at the Republic and believe this internship helped me grow dramatically. My work can be found here. ------------
Cronkite News January 2017-May 2017
My time at Cronkite News was my first true experience working in a newsroom and developing stories on my own. As a member of the largest newsroom in Arizona, learning to think on my feet and applying all the skills I had been taught was very rewarding. You can find my favorite piece from my time at Cronkite News here.

I am a graduate of the prestigious Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, where I obtained a Bachelors degree in Sports Journalism and a Minor in Political Science.
My time at Arizona State University has provided me a great foundation in which to work off of. I have had experience working in professional newsrooms for the last year and learned the inner workings of producing high quality material. I am a multi-media journalist who has knowledge of all Adobe programs, such as Photoshop, illustrator and InDesign. I also have extensive experience using Premiere Pro video editing software to create highlight and story packages both for the web and television. Arizona State University and my time in a professional news setting has me fully prepared to produce professional and intriguing content.
