I am a hardworking individual who goes above and beyond what is required, taking responsibility for all my decisions and leading teams to success. Whilst completing tasks, I am enthusiastic and passionate, taking pride in my work and managing through difficult situations and resolving problems that may arise. My volunteer and previous work experience has developed my skills in curating, management and public speaking. CURRENT EMPLOYMENT

March 2019 – September 2020: Co-Curator of a Jack Vettriano Exhibition

This is an ongoing project that will end with the opening of the exhibition in September 2020. The role involves researching Vettriano’s early work; attending meetings; participating in rewriting the website biography; taking charge of social media platforms; deciding on the exhibition title; discussing and making decisions about the artworks to be included; putting together the catalogue; contacting collectors who own the paintings, discussing insurance and finance with the gallery and collectors, overseeing the movement of Vettriano’s artworks, liaising with the other curator and using teamwork to complete the tasks and helping with the sale of Vettriano paintings to new collectors. This will create new challenges to overcome as they arise.

August 2019– Present: Customer Service Assistant at Palenque Current Duties Duties include: helping customers identify and purchase products suiting their needs and preferences; responsible for approaching potential clients; offering advice and helping hesitant customers make a decision; preventing store thefts and reporting to upper management. Also, collaborating on daily routines and facilitated store flow; completing accurate cash and credit transactions; Effectively multi-tasking numerous responsibilities with minimal supervision and managing administrative work through filing, inventory and customer follow-up. I pay attention to details; have a good observation spirit and I am salesoriented and persuasive which allows me to develop a trusting relationship with customers.

PREVIOUS EMPLOYMENT July 2019– August 26 2019: Retail and Ticketing Assistant at Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art

Providing excellent customer services including working flexibly, undertaking a range of tasks including providing customer information, undertaking counter sales, cash taking and till operations, in keeping with the standards and aims and objectives of the NGS. The role involves developing and maintaining a thorough knowledge of all products in order to be able to identify benefits and introduce appropriate linked sales; contribute to the achievement of sales targets by proactively promoting NGS shop products and/or tickets; maintain the standards of merchandising, display and housekeeping required by the NGS; carry out ticketing and/or shop administration procedures and activities including maintaining records of stock transfers and adjustments, banking procedures, stock records and assisting and directing the visitors as necessary.

June 2018 – July 2019: Gallery Attendant, Scottish National Gallery and Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art (part-time)

Numerous duties including but not limited to; Supervision of members of the public to ensure the safety of the collections and regulation of those failing to comply with the Gallery's conditions of entry; answering art queries passionately by going above and beyond protocol to provide a high standard of information; to be knowledgeable by researching upcoming contemporary exhibitions; prohibiting the use of flash in exhibitions; reporting any incidents to supervisor; assistance to the public in emergency situations; attending daily morning briefs; attending appropriate training such as fire training, health and safety and career development. Small events management is also included overtime, overseeing out of hours events.

May 10 – May 31 2018: Catering Assistant, Edinburgh College of Art (part-time)

Provided a range of services from amazing customer services, waitressing, managing tills as well as kitchen porter duties. Due to the new manager and upgrade of The Café, I was involved in creating the new order system and therefore participated in full-time hours. This role was demanding, forcing me to take a pragmatic and organisational approach. I ensured constant communication and feedback to the new manager allowing the development of the well-ordered and busy café.

August 2016 – May 2018: Sales Assistant, Estee Lauder Companies (part-time)

Provide excellent customer service including a one-toone beauty consultation; one-to-one skin consultation; occasionally organise small beauty events in house; completing training as required; restocking the counter as required; arranging return appointments; stand-in for colleagues for other companies; ensuring the counter is presented to a high standard

October 2014 – July 2016: Kitchen Porter/Waitress, Giovanni’s Italian Bistro (part-time)

This part-time job allowed me to be part of a small team within a fast-paced bistro. My key duties included; washing dishes; waitressing; assisting with outside catering; occasional food preparation. While waitressing, I had opportunities to manage the front of house while the general manager dealt with external clients.

VOLUNTEER WORK

September 2017 – September 2018: The John Byrne Award

The John Byrne Award is a platform showcasing the meaningful work of 16-25 year olds in Scotland and supports the creative expression of values. My role is to proactively engage in face-to-face marketing with students in The University of Edinburgh, encouraging students to enter The John Byrne Award; investigate if The University of Edinburgh could offer a paid intern for The John Byrne Award to host; proactively seek out opportunities to promote the competition to students in and around the university, including but to restricted to- lecture shout outs, exhibiting entries in university buildings, student communications, student societies, businesses around the university.

August 2015 – May 2016: The Penicuik Library
General maintaining and management of the library space. Acquiring, organising, managing and distributing library resources, ensuring that the library provision meets the needs of all users as well as tidying shelves, categorising books, serving customers and organising DVDs. This position allowed me to gain valuable customer specific experience which my polite demeanour reflected.
