To ARRO Labs HR,
Hello, my name is Thomas Anderson and I’m interested in the enviornmental laboratory technician position at ARRO Laboratory Inc. I’m a Biology major that just completed my degree this summer at Rutgers the State University of New Jersey and I relocated back home early (Illinois) for my job hunt since my courses are all done. I learned of this opportunity through zip recruiter.
In terms of my best experiences I have worked 7 months as an intern in a cell culturing lab and I’ve won an award in microbiology for best research project. My cell culturing internship took place early in my college career where I exercised many skills including lab maintenance, time management, aseptic technique, media inoculation, data entry, and reagent preparation. Later on in lab courses such as biology, microbiology, biochemistry, and organic chemistry I began to understand the mechanics behind the reactions taking place in my previous internship including why certain enzymes and acids are better for compound extractions and testing; e.g why tryptophan (a digestive enzyme) is used to dislocate the cells during passaging.
I learned a lot in the rigorous courses at Rutgers and I’m eager to use what I’ve learned as well as to build my expertise. I do have questions for you about this position and I’d like to propose an interview to learn more and to answer any question. Thank you for reading my cover letter and if you think I’d make a good candidate for this or any other positions then feel free to reach out to me at RUT------------ or ------------.
Keep Moving,
Thomas Anderson
