Summary
I have had previous work experience at 7 different jobs. Donnely's Bar and Grill, located in the Village of Fairport was my first job. I worked as dishwasher for one year during my last year in high school. I left due to my move to college. My second job was during my first year of college; at The Rochester Institute of Technology, where I worked as a dining room attendant and did occasional food prep and dishwashing during school at an on-campus restaurant called Salsarita's. I had also worked there for one year, until I decided to transfer and attend Brockport and had to take leave. Over the summer of 2016 I worked at Wendy's as a Cashier for a summer job until I came to school here at Brockport. For the summer of 2017 I worked at SUNY Brockport as an Emergency Health Services Intern doing office work and dealing with fire extinguisher and hazardous materials. I’ve also spent a year volunteering as a gallery worker in the Tower of Fine Arts Gallery at SUNY Brockport participating in all types of physical hands on work and paper work. Summer of 2018 I worked as a painter, painting the dorm rooms of my college campus, fixing walls, and moving furniture. I worked in the dining hall at Brockway on campus at SUNY College at Brockport as a promoted Student Manager, and have worked in a managerial position for 3 years during my schooling as of May 2019. I have a plethora of skillsets that stem from experience stems from food service, customer service, office work, and physical laboring positions. This all has made me a strong and independent worker ready to take on most any job. I am quick to learn and pick up skills, have a friendly demeaner and positive outlook, and have a great attendance rate and performance with all of my past jobs. I worked as a Student Manager for BASC for 3 years in the SUNY Brockport Dining Hall, and worked in food prep, cooking, cleaning, and managing. Most of this work dealt with physical labor and delegating tasks to workers. I left this job after 3 years, as once you graduate you can no longer work as it is for students only.
From August of my starting year to January of the same year, I worked as dining room attendant, wiping tables, mopping and sweeping floors, replacing napkins, and taking out the trash. I also worked as a kitchen worker and have helped cook and prepare food. I currently know how to make pizzas, prep and cook raw meats, prepare and cook vegetables, and make a variety of breakfast foods. Serving food, lifting heavy objects, and cleaning dishes is also a part of my experience at this job. I have also been on Cleaning Crew helping clean and wipe down the entirety of the dining hall and kitchen. Being a floater has allowed me to work a few shifts of almost every position in the dining hall, giving me the most kitchen experience as of late.
