• Research, interpret, and present projects contingent to the District Two agenda and policy priorities including maternity leave, raising the minimum wage, feasibility of solar paneled roadways, tiny homes to house the homeless, and new routes for trolleys throughout Coconut Grove to the Director of Constituent Services

Examining Racial and Ethnic Disparities in Miami – Dade County’s Criminal Justice System

• Examine racial/ethnic disparities among Miami – Dade County criminal defendants by completing 2000 Qualtrics surveys measuring different variables such as age, attraction, femininity and masculinity, threat, dangerousness, and alcohol consumption based on mugshots
• Code results in order to reform existing attitudes on inmates in the Criminal Justice System and create practical policies to prevent entrance into the CJS and mitigate recidivism rates

Kinesthetic and Interactive Art Sculpture – Black Hoodie.

Black Hoodie magnifies contemporary social injustice issues including racism, racial profiling, marginalization, hatred, the school to prison pipeline, immigration etc. This piece then serves as a way to discuss these issues in depth so that policy changes and reform can come about while furthering existing literature on these topics. In addition, the inclusion of testimonies bridges the gap from the local to the systemic so that individuals are awakened enough to act on their views and personal histories.
