o Working with at risk children aged 0-6 years in s nursery setting, children would be dropped off no questions asked by a parent or guardian due to unsafe conditions at home
• Volunteer at House of Charity (Spokane, WA)

o Serving and eating dinner with people experiencing homelessness.

o As an employment specialist for Artisans, I help adults with special needs develop job skills, job search, apply for jobs, go through the interviewing process, and do the job or volunteer position itself.

o As a member of Fossil Free Gonzaga, I have expanded my leadership capabilities and have learned how to work with leaders on a multitude of levels with varying opinions and how to best work together towards a cause, as well as how to keep pushing forward for one’s cause.
• HIV/AIDS Project Developer for the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (Cape Town)
o July 2017-November 2017
o Worked with a representative from CPUT in Cape Town, South Africa to develop an anonymous, online question and answer forum for students to inquire about various issues and aspects of the HIV/AIDS epidemic such as signs and symptoms, methods of prevention and treatment, how to deal with stigma and social hardship, and contraceptives.
o Worked with individuals affected by HIV/AIDS to gain a first hand perspective on life with HIV/AIDS and how we could best assist them and others who are affected by these diseases.
• Volunteer at Women’s Hearth (Spokane, WA)
o January 2018-Current
o Go and socialize with women who are experiencing homelessness, addiction, or abuse at a women’s shelter
o Experience speaking about difficult issues that affect women, marginalized populations, and gender inequality.
• Lesson planning and school teaching for kindergarteners in South Africa (Ikaya Primary School, Kayamandi, Stellenbosch, South Africa)
o July 2017-November 2017
o Worked with two international students to construct a lesson plan and activities based upon the school’s curriculum
o Used these curriculums to teach along side two other co-teachers and lead thirty-five South African kindergarteners through the class
o Obtained skills in effective communication across language and cultural barriers
o Obtained skills in utilizing methods other than language to communicate with children as well as learning isiXhosa in order to communicate with the children
• English tutoring in South Africa
o July 2017-November 2017
o Worked with a middle school in the township Kayamandi in Stellenbosch to tutor sixth graders in English
o Practiced skills in working around the language barrier and using both English, Afrikaans, and isiXhosa to effectively communicate and find middle ground

Skills
• I have obtained Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Word certifications, very proficient in Microsoft Excel. Submitting computer reports would not be an issue.
• I am a quick learner and determined learner.
• I am not afraid to ask for help and work through issues that I may have until I get them right, whether it is learning coping skills, a new language, or a procedure I will work at it until I can get it right in order to maximize the good that I can do for the goal or project I am working towards.
• I am very at ease with uncomfortable situations and see them as a space to learn, grow, and step outside of my own world.
• I am great with kids and adults of all ages, I have excellent interpersonal skills and am a very outgoing, personable person.
• Able to manage stressful and demanding situations with children-adults.
• Excellent skills in working with others and managing tasks between groups of people, as well as being able to lead groups through tasks.
• Through my time abroad, I have gained many skills in how to approach and best mitigate language and cultural barriers in order to promote effective communication and form a bond between individuals while maintaining a respectful environment that embraces and celebrates differences.
