Duties include; develop curriculum and teach private drumset lessons to music majors. Also teach private drumset lessons as a fine arts elective for beginning non-music majors. Teach the drumset/percussion methods education course to music education majors. As needed, work as a clinician for the Jazz Ensembles. Perform with the Faculty Jazz Ensemble.
Founder/Director, Jazz In July Band Camp (’95-2000)
Implemented and directed a two-week summer jazz camp for students in junior high school through college.
Developed the curriculum/budget/outreach/advertising and formed a faculty of local jazz artists.
Classes included, group lessons for each instrument, theory, listening/appreciation and performance ensembles.
Private Drumset Studio (’92-Present)
Private lessons to all level students from beginners to advanced adult professionals. Former students include; All-State Jazz Ensemble members, professional performers, as well as music educators.
Clinician/ Adjudicator (’92-Present)
Participation in regional college music festivals as a panel judge and clinician. Duties include; giving constructive critique, grading, and giving rhythm section clinics to college, high school and junior high ensembles.
