Attendance Matters group targeted students who have had more than five chronic absences during the first semester with a 50% increase in attendance. Social Skills group was developed to help students learn how to be a team player and share with others, develop friendship and socialization skills and how to resolve conflicts. Self-esteem Group for Girls was implemented to help students feel positive about themselves, change negative thoughts into positive ones, set attainable goals, and encourage students to live with purpose, responsibility and integrity.
• Classroom Guidance- Developed and implemented classroom guidance lessons on various topics such as Bullying Awareness and Prevention, Think First and Stay Safe with Family Sunshine Center, career exploration, kindness, personal hygiene, conflict resolution, test-taking strategies and skills.
• Implemented a Career Day Extravaganza to reinforce career exploration among students to look to the future about college and careers.
