Research Western Washington University— NASA Space Grant
June 2020 - September 2020
Over the course of 3 months, I will be conducting experiments in a wave tank created by Brady Foreman, provided by Western Washington University, to test the theories of ice melt on Mars and how they created the deltas and alluvial fans in the craters of this planet. Using this data, I will be assessing the paleoclimate of Mars based on the average rate of ice melt.
(40 hours per week for 10 weeks)

Research Assistant Western Washington University— Mars Lab Research
January 2020 - June 2020
Research assistant for NASA, through Western Washington University, working under Dr. Melissa Rice. Reading Mars related papers to get a better understanding of astrogeology and Mars's sediment erosion due to water, past tectonic activity, paleoclimate, and deposition hypotheses for college credit. Learning to use the Mastcam Database and CRISM. Beginning to shift gears into creating an experimental research project relating to Mars's past deltaic deposition and if the deposits were due to high magnitude, low frequency rain storms, or by low magnitude, high frequency rain storms.
(1 quarter credit; can be buildable next quarter).

Learned how to homogenize large samples like dirt, protein bars, and insects, organized the product stock room and fridge, and made air quality traps. Helped 3 different departments (ICPMS group, Trace metals group, Shipping and Handling group) to help the return to client time decrease.
