Academic Profile/ Summary of Qualifications

Academic Preparations: As a recent graduate at the University at Buffalo, I have obtained a B.S. in Pharmacology and Toxicology. In the last 4 years I have spent countless hours learning and preparing myself to work in a research/data analysis setting. Through lab courses and independent research I have developed what it takes to provide quality work in a lab setting. I am proficient in Chemistry procedures such as GC, HPLC, and Mass Spec; along with a range of biological assays and cell culture maintenance, making me a good candidate for multiple laboratory positions.

Key Strengths:
· I possess an extreme pride for my work; I never take an opportunity lightly and always provide my full attention, skill, respect, and perfectionism while working.
· Trained leadership and team-oriented skills; through 8 years working at the same company, I’ve been trusted to run a team of workers to ensure their safety in hazardous traffic while still efficiently working to get the job done correctly with the team. Most of the time in stressful, long days in heat.
· Strong passion for pharmacology and research; nothing commits me more to work than loving the work that I do. I will thrive in any work setting, heightening the bar of expectation to perform.

Education
University at Buffalo, The State University of New York
Pharmacology and Toxicology B.S.                                                     May 2019

Research
January 2019- May 2019
· Started up and maintained a cell culture of hepa 1C1C7 mouse liver cells for 20 weeks, including the process of cryopreservation to save cells for student use. Ran a series of MTT assays weekly to assess potential synergism between toxins and develop good data to interpret IC50’s of the toxins used. This gave me valuable experience in running experiments independently, adapting procedures to overcome inconsistencies or technical issues, and also interpreting and formatting raw data obtained from the experiments and presenting them in a manor that is easily understandable to the reader. Over 15 weeks of data was analyzed in total, sifting through to find any outliers due to experimental technical difficulties and using that data each week to construct a new experiment that will obtain the most relevant data needed, and enhance techniques used to improve results. This work was done independently under the discretion of Dr. David Shubert, the dean of undergraduate biomedical sciences at the University at Buffalo.

Experimental Pharmacology
· Ran a series of different experiments over the course of the semester to establish what four different toxic treatments were given to four male Sprague-Dawley rats. This included preparing cellular fractions from each rat, running a Bio-Rad Protein Assay, establishing enzyme activity by measuring N-demethylase activity, assessing hepatotoxicity by finding Alanine Aminotransferase (ALT) activity, staining and observing histopathological samples, using the Western Blot method, and isolating mRNA to determine RNA quality and quantity to be used in RT-PCR. The data found from each experiment was analyzed independently and was subsequently established in a written lab report to present results.

Work Experience

Dixe Sweeping, Sealing, and Striping
618.5 W Newell St, Syracuse NY 13205

Sealing
-May 2009- June 2011
· I started sealing driveways and parking lots as young as I could. As an easily impressionable kid, I was taught great work ethic and important group work traits such as communication and team work to provide quality work for customers in an efficient manner.
Striping
-June 2011-current
· After a coworker left, I was moved in the business to start striping lines in parking lots and roads. I was quick to catch on to the new work, providing my knowledge of geometry to help construct blueprints and paint parking spaces correctly. This skill can take years to perfect, and I’ve attracted a sizable customer base across New York State.
· My boss had to undergo an emergency quadruple artery bypass heart surgery. The recovery from the surgery caused my boss to be out of work for over a month and a half. After fear of having to stop all work, my coworker and I ran the business ourselves for the time he was gone, giving me the opportunity to run a business and learn valuable leadership skills. I take pride that my boss trusts me now to manage a team of workers safely and efficiently by myself.
· This job taught me everything I know about hard work. Spending everyday working up to 16 hours in hot weather has tested my limits, but has gave me an extreme ability to work long hours in high stress situations while maintaining my composure and ensuring the work is done correctly. These skills are easily transferable to other work conditions and ensure I always go above expectation in anything I do

Volunteer Work

Loretto Health & Rehab
-My mother works in an elderly rehab facility as a nurse trainer. Every year my Thanksgiving is spent serving Thanksgiving dinner to families whose loved ones are unable to go home. Throughout middle school and high school, I spent time during the summer here volunteering as well. This volunteer work taught me empathy and fueled my drive to apply my knowledge to help others.

Make-A-Wish Foundation
During high school I coordinated and ran a school fundraiser with my sister to sell homecoming shirts. The profits made from this went directly to the Make-A-Wish foundation and their efforts. Over a thousand dollars were donated in total.
