Physician Assistant, Pain Management Consultants; Austin, Texas – 1 year, 6 months
[2017-2018]
Duties included physical examination and evaluation of patients contending with chronic pain
diagnoses. Patients were assessed as candidates for pharmacological and nonpharmacological
treatment options including selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors,
anticonvulsants, narcotic pain medication, spinal cord stimulators, intrathecal pain pumps,
and various injections completed in-office or with the assistance of fluoroscopy at an offsite
surgical center.
Patients were referred to neurosurgery, physical therapy, or orthopedic surgery if warranted
based on imaging results or failed response to the aforementioned treatment modalities.
Other duties included the management of intrathecal pain pumps including medication
dosage rate pump adjustments and intrathecal pain pump refills using sterile procedure
protocol with the assistance of Medtronic equipment. I completed simple procedures in-office

Duties included managing both pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment options
for patients contending with chronic pain diagnoses. Typical duties included conducting

diagnostic tests, and referring patients to neurosurgery, physical therapy, or orthopedic

Duties included physical examination, diagnosis, treatment and chronic management of
injured state and federal workers. Collaboration with onsite chiropractors facilitated the
rehabilitation of patient to prepare them to resume full time employment. This facility also
