Work Experience As a full-time student for my entire educational career, I have had little time for actual employment. However, I have spent many, many hours working for families, taking care of their children, animals and houses and have many repeat clients. I have used and honed many of my skills working with these families, in different situations. Some of the skills that have been most necessary are:
• Time management
• Interpersonal skills
• Flexibility
• Ability to work with difficult personalities and situations
• Ability to console, comfort and stay calm in challenging situations
• Basic first aid training
• Strong empathy and compassion
I have also job shadowed in a hospital in the nursing department at Legacy Emanuel Hospital in Portland and in multiple hospital departments in London.
