SKILLS

I can manage Martial Arts classes, work with kids of all ages, communicate professionally and effectively with customers. My creativity allows me to fully embrace my position and excel in it, granted I am given the freedom to stretch in that respect.

EXPERIENCE

Taekwondo Instructor and After-School Pick-Up Counselor / Round Rock Taekwondo

2011 – Present

My primary job is teaching Taekwondo to students from ages 4 through adult. I have done a phenomenal job with energetically teaching my students the technical and artistic sides of Taekwondo, as well as striking the right balance between showing empathy and firmness to the students. Other aspects of the school that I have been put in charge of include the following:
1. Cleanliness of the school
2. Making some public relations calls
3. Hand-writing encouragement cards to students
4. After-school pick-up 2 days of the week
5. Social media updates, including picture taking and video-making
6. Organizing and leading a Taekwondo demo team

Summer Camp Counselor, Taekwondo Instructor and Front Desk Runner / Taekwondo Plus South Austin

2016 – 2018

My job here was to run the Taekwondo School while the head instructor was away. Details are listed as follows:
One of my main jobs was running a Summer Camp of approx. 7-14 kids from morning until late afternoon. This included planning and coordinating activities for the campers, as well as providing them with emotional and team-building support with one another.
The other main job was to teach Taekwondo classes. These classes typically occurred in the late afternoon-evening time, but sometimes coincided with the Summer Camp. At this time, I was able to effectively manage both at the same time by having my Summer Campers take the Taekwondo classes.
My other supplementary jobs included answering questions from behind the desk, helping customers fill out contracts, and cleaning the school such as restrooms, floors, and windows.

VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE OR LEADERSHIP

Ultimate Frisbee Group Leader/Coordinator:

I sent weekly messages and updates to a group of peers. We met Sunday afternoons to play Ultimate Frisbee for a couple of hours. I was an acknowledged representative and leader of the group in all decision making.

Music Class for Preschool and Kindergarteners at First United Methodist Church:

Every other Sunday, I would teach the music classes for the preschool and kindergarteners while the parents were participating in the service. My job was to lead them in dance and song to Christian music. I was also in charge of organizing activities and games for them.

VBS at First United Methodist Church:

The volunteer work involved working with kids as young as preschool ages up to 5th graders from morning until noon. Skills that I was able to successfully use for this were management of kids, developing positive team-building tasks for my group, as well as exercising patience and understanding. Occasionally, I would be called upon to fill in for another volunteer, who would have a job I was unfamiliar with. The learning process didn’t take long for me and I was able to easily adapt to any new position that I was put in.

Chime Camp at First United Methodist Church:

This volunteer work involved me assisting in teaching kids how to read music and ring chimes. I was also charged with accompanying the kids with piano music and leading the games portion of the camp.

Global Encounters Unbound Students – Ecuador:
This mission allowed me to utilize several skills ranging from Spanish-speaking, to managing a team of volunteers, to piano music for worship songs, all the way to working with a group of teens and teaching them about the Gospel.
