• Observed the effects of specific drugs, and their effects on serotonin pathways in the dorsal raphe of treated rat brain.
• Learned how to operate a microtome machine, treat and preserve neural tissue (immunocytochemistry), mount tissue on a microscope slide, and correctly dye the tissue to highlight desired patterns for observation.

PATH Training Coordinator May 2019 – December 2020
PATH Crisis Center, Bloomington, IL
• Oversaw the 40-hour training program for the volunteers at PATH Crisis Center.
• Gave the course lectures and ensured that everyone who undertakes the training for PATH is ready to take calls when the time comes. Couse material includes active listening skills, suicide assessment/prevention, crisis intervention, mental health awareness, and more.

• Presenting a brief lecture on types of mental health conditions and illness, contributing and influencing factors, as well as presenting a story of a personal experience with mental illness.
• Ending presentations with a call to action, and an avocation for options for health in treatment within the schools very community.

• Severing as a member of the National Alliance of Mental Illness means living in the community as someone who has a mental illness
• Advocating for others who are suffering and serving as an example that living with an illness can get better.
NAMI Connections Support Group Facilitator
